==Synopsis==
[[Thagoria]] arrived outside of Moot Hall and made general conversation for over two hours. She was told of an air and lightning elementals invasion the prior night, but noted that she was aware, as she is stationed here for now to monitor Melgorehn's Reach. Thagoria informed everyone that it looks like the Basilica will likely put Ambassador [[Vespasius Koryth Faendryl]] in charge of the investigation, as a compromise given the internal politics between the Archchancellors of the Pentact divisions. This included not privileging [[Malevort Hexmor Faendryl|Malevort]] and [[Dracovir Faendryl|Dracovir]] over one another, and the Armata bristling at the expansion of the Palestra into the outlands, and probably other foreign policy factors. Thagoria said we will likely see movement on the investigation in the next week, that the [[History of the Faendryl#Faendryl Government and Rank|Basilica]] is working out "scopes of authority", and what matters with history of Faendryl involvement the Basilica does not want pried into excessively. But that the higher authorities are unlikely to use her as their mouthpiece.

Thagoria warned that Vespasius the "most undiplomatic of diplomats" and an "imperious and difficult personality", but that people would be unlikely to have to deal with him much directly and to not worry too much about his "rhetoric." Thagoria explained that while Vespasius has the standing to act as Ambassador, if assigned to an embassy, House Faendryl would only ever have embassies with other Houses. Lesser powers get smaller diplomatic missions or "legations." She also said that if the Basilica had an embassy in Ta'Vaalor, Vespasius would likely be its Ambassador, as it would need to be someone who can stand up against Chamberlain [[Retassal|Retassal er'Anlan Vaalor]]. Vespasius is better understood as a "High Legate", something like the Northern Sentinel of the Turamzzyrian Empire, except he would be the civilian authority to whom the provincial legions would be answering.

Various KST history and political topics were discussed. This included the [[Star of Khar'ta]], which Thagoria said belongs to the Basilica but would require too much force to recover right now, as well as [[Grishom Stone]] having caused the Ithzir invasion of 5116 with it. Thagoria casually mentioned that Chancellor [[Virulia Hathwier Faendryl|Virulia]] was ready to launch a full invasion of Darkstone Bay in 5116, if the locals had failed to stop the Ithzir from establishing anchors on this side of the veil. [[The Kasendra Accords]] were also mentioned, which got some venom out of Thagoria, who called it "Nalfein treachery" and that it had made important people "very mad." Implying it was militarily threatening, and violating their authority along the coasts. But that she had to restrain herself, because she is not authorized to speak as the voice of the Basilica on those subjects.

Three weeks earlier there was a shock wave in the veil that was caused by [[Aralyte]]'s soulstone interacting with the mana storm of Melgorehn's Reach and apparently the [[Shadow Realm]]. This was noticed by [[Thagoria]] of the Faendryl Basilica, who learned of recent shadowy Ithzir invaders, and the apparent survival of the Palestra Blade Aralyte for ten years in that demonic valence. After reporting this to the Basilica, Thagoria returned to say there will probably be an investigation, and she distributed a more powerful [[Sacrifice]] method through the sorcerer guilds. Then on this night she returned to say the investigation is imminent.

Here in the center of a broad plaza near the commercial area of the bazaar stands the impressive facade of the slate-roofed Moot Hall, where the citizens of Wehnimer's Landing hold various official, religious and social functions.  Facing the square are some of the town's more prosperous shops, still doing business with the many customers who still frequent the streets at night.  You also see a huge dark wagon with a glowing blue-white pylon on it, a large purple wooden barrel, a wood-framed message board and a dark green wreath with Imaera's lace hanging from the doors of Moot Hall.
