Each material has a '''weight modifier''' associated with it to account for the differences in strength and density of the various magical metals within the world of [[Elanthia]].  The formula is truncated after multiplying an item's base weight by the material's weight modifier.  For example, an item weighing 4 pounds, such as a [[katar]], that is made of imflass (a 70% modifier, or 0.7) would weigh 2.8 pounds.  Truncating this, you end up with an object weighing a mere 2 pounds.
