'''Prismatic Guard''' is a defensive spell that causes multicolored rays to shoot out of a character's body and flow into a shimmering sphere surrounding the character.  It is [[self-cast]]; non-wizards may only obtain this spell from [[magic item]]s or [[scroll]]s.  It provides a base +5 physical/+20 bolt [[DS]] and is stackable.

Training in [[Wizard Base]] spells increases the duration of this spell, as well as the efficacy.  The duration is extended by 60 seconds from its base 1200 second duration for every Wizard Base rank.  In addition, there is an increase of +1 for both physical and bolt DS for every 4 Wizard Base spell ranks known over 5. With the increase in defense, there is also an increase in [[mana]] cost. The base mana cost is 5, +1 additional mana for every 3 DS bonus over 5.
