[A Silk Pavillion, The Gathering]<br>
Swathes of rich claret-hued silk cover the walls of the pavilion, leaving the sides airy yet secluded.  Several cushioned sofas and chairs covered with ebon brocade have been placed about a rich wool carpet.  Hanging from the peaked ceiling are a trio of clear crystal lanterns suspended from dark steel chains.  Set in the center of the gathering space to ward off the chill is a small marble firepit with a patterned basket of sticks sitting to one side.  You also see an expansive carved basalt relief, a marble Palestra statue, a marble elven summoner statue, an imposing black and grey painting and a small ebonwood table with a polished silver platter on it.<br>

A voice cries out from somewhere nearby, "Dance Master Sarvyis Neflior Faendryl will be in the pavilion by the Faendryl embassy in just a bit.  He is rounding up his musicians and will begin the dance lessons a few moments late."

Tredohal walks in.

Tredohal says, "Good evening."

Lylia bows to Tredohal.

Lylia says, "Ah, good evening to you."

Lylia smiles at Tredohal.

Speaking in Faendryl to Tredohal, you say, "Good evening Ambassador."

Speaking in Faendryl, Tredohal says, "It is good to see so many here to learn to dance."

Speaking in Faendryl to Tredohal, Karluth says, "Ambassador, it is good to see you."

Lylia says, "The clomping and stamping I usually see in the Landing is all well and good, but to see something a bit more refined -- yes, I would like that."

Laelithonel skips in a circle around Lylia.

Speaking in Faendryl, Tredohal says, "And it is good to see, to see everyone."

Speaking in Faendryl, Tredohal says, "Excellent."

Karluth nods respectfully at Tredohal.

Karluth walks over to the chair and settles down.

Speaking neutrally in Dark Elven to Tredohal, Xinza says, "Good evening, Ambassador."

Speaking in Faendryl, Tredohal says, "The dancemaster has two dances to practice with you."

Speaking in Faendryl, Tredohal says, "Please step to the north east."

Tredohal nods.

Ambassador Tredohal just went northeast.

[A Silk Pavillion, Ballroom]<br>
Panels of dark ebonwood are fitted together in the center of the room, creating a large dance floor.  The placement of the wood tiles in various directions makes unique patterns and enhances the natural grain.  A variety of silk-cushioned chairs are placed about the room, their carved feet sinking into a thick carpet that surrounds the central area.  Black steel racks of candles stand tall about the perimeter.  You also see a raised oak stage.

A voice cries out from somewhere nearby, "Dance Master Sarvyis Neflior Faendryl is beginning now in the pavilion by the Faendryl embassy."
 
Sarvyis says, "Excellent."

Sarvyis asks, "How many of you attend balls and stand about, awkwardly?"

Sarvyis asks, "Where does your hand go?"

Lylia quips, "I prefer to think I stand about gracefully."

Sarvyis asks, "Where does his?"

Aurach softly says, "Good evening Ambassador, all gathered."

Speaking in Faendryl, Tredohal says, "I am afraid duties call me away, but please enjoy."

Tredohal bows.

Speaking to Tredohal, Karluth says, "Good evening, Ambassador."

Speaking in Faendryl, Tredohal says, "I leave you in the dancing hands of Lord Sarvyis."

Speaking in Faendryl, Tredohal says, "Or... um... feet."

Ambassador Tredohal just went southwest.

Sarvyis says, "Excellent."

Sarvyis says, "Well now."

Sarvyis asks, "Will you please pair up with a partner?"

Sarvyis says, "And we will try a few basic steps."

Sarvyis says, "Gentlemen please raise your hand."

Karluth raises his hand.

Aurach softly says, "Indeed."

Lylia strides over to stand before Aurach.

Aurach inclines his head.

Xinza gazes heavenward.

Aurach nods at Lylia.

Laelithonel pulls Abrimel closer to herself.

Laelithonel mutters, "Yoink."

Xinza arches one eyebrow at Karluth in an expression of sardonic amusement.

Durakar raises his hand.

Abrimel mutters under his breath.

Sarvyis says, "Excellent."

Karluth closes his eyes for a moment.

Sarvyis says, "Please bow to a partner."

Aurach bows to Lylia.

Lylia smooths the metallic fabric of her gown, and it glitters in the ambient light.

Lylia bows to Aurach.

Lylia inclines her head.

Xinza bows to Karluth.

Abrimel bows to Laelithonel.

Laelithonel bows to Abrimel.

Sarvyis says, "I will start some music I suppose and we can at least dance to it for now."

Sarvyis says, "While we get the basic steps."

Sarvyis says, "But first."

Sarvyis says, "It is customary for the gentlemen to bow to their partner."

Lylia unwinds the leg straps of her slippers and pulls them tighter before lacing them up again.

Karluth turns to face Xinza.

Karluth bows to Xinza.

Aurach bows to Lylia.

Karluth gives a sidelong glance at Sarvyis.

Abrimel turns to face Laelithonel.

Abrimel bows to Laelithonel.

Durakar bows to you.

Lylia inclines her head.

Sarvyis says, "And then ladies, should smile and curtsy at their partner."

Xinza glances incredulously at Sarvyis.

Laelithonel's eyelid begins to twitch and quiver uncontrollably.

Xinza smiles at Karluth.

Laelithonel turns to face Abrimel.

Sarvyis says, "Even if your partner is the worst one in the city, smile."

Karluth grins weakly.

Laelithonel drops smoothly into a deep curtsy before Abrimel, sweeping her arms grandly to her sides.

(Xinza mimics a curtsy as if she's wearing a skirt.)

Aurach softly says, "Unless they have been married several centuries."

Lylia smiles at Aurach and sinks into a deep curtsy, her skirts pooling around her like liquid eahnor.

Sarvyis says, "It would be rude not to."

Aurach nods sagely.

Karluth glances down.

Laelithonel ponders.

Sarvyis says, "And excellent, if you do not have on a gown, pretend."

Lylia nods at Sarvyis.

Speaking to Sarvyis, Laelithonel asks, "Wha'if ya partner is a female as well? Or male as well? Do both bow an'curtsy?"

Laelithonel cocks her head.

Laelithonel mumbles, "Is very important questions."

Sarvyis says, "You would both do the appropriate movement."

Laelithonel nods once.

Sarvyis says, "If you have not already asked the lady to dance, you could when you bow."

Sarvyis asks, "May I please have this dance my lady?"

Durakar says, "Do accept my apologies, but I must head out for a while."

Sarvyis says, "Perhaps our latecomer will join in."

Lylia says, "How fortunate, then, that another has come to dance with your partner."

Speaking sheepishly to Laelithonel, Abrimel repeats, "May I please have this dance, my lady?"

Lylia nods at Durakar.

Abrimel bows to Laelithonel.

Karluth bows to Xinza.

Laelithonel nods at Abrimel.

Laelithonel curtsies to Abrimel.

Laelithonel ponders.

Deckits rubs his chin thoughtfully.

Speaking expressly to Xinza, Karluth asks, "May I have this dance of elegance with you, my lady?"

Speaking to Deckits, Sarvyis asks, "Will you partner the lady?"

Deckits rubs his chin thoughtfully.

Lylia grins at Deckits.

Sarvyis says, "It is perfect and she is without a partner."

Deckits moans.

Lylia gives Deckits a little prod between the shoulder blades.

Deckits says, "Ok.. but.."

Lord Demyse just arrived.

Deckits says, "I promise nothing, most of what I do ends in bloodshed."

Lylia interrupts, "No buts."

You curtsy to Deckits.

Deckits adopts an agreeable expression.

Lylia nods to Demyse in greeting.

Laelithonel agrees with Lylia.

Speaking to Deckits, Sarvyis says, "Excellent, thank  you."

Speaking formally to Karluth, Xinza says, "It would be my honor."

Karluth smiles at Xinza.

Speaking in Faendryl to Demyse, Deckits asks, "Perhaps you would like to show me how it's done?"

Deckits grins at Demyse.

Speaking in Faendryl, Deckits says, "Sparegris looks like she needs a partner."

Deckits adopts an agreeable expression.

Sarvyis says, "Now for this more lively dance."

Aurach twists his head slightly, cracking his neck.  He looks relieved.

Laelithonel folds her arms over her chest.

Sarvyis says, "Men."

Speaking in Faendryl, Demyse quietly says, "My deepest of regrets, I attempted to wait for one on my wifes to be ready for such a venture."

Sarvyis says, "Steps lightly to the left."

Speaking in Faendryl, Deckits says, "Ah."

Deckits nods.

Aurach surreptitiously glances at Sarvyis.

Sarvyis steps lightly to the left.

Sarvyis says, "Easy."

Sarvyis says, "Please try that gentlemen."

Speaking quietly in Faendryl to Deckits, Demyse says, "And why haven't you danced with her."

Karluth gives a sidelong glance at Sarvyis.

Deckits rubs his chin thoughtfully.

Aurach takes a few steps to his left.

Speaking in Faendryl, Demyse quietly says, "She is an extremely appealing female."

Lylia is admiring Aurach.

Speaking in Faendryl to Demyse, Deckits says, "Because I'm not sure what I do could be considered dancing."

Demyse smiles at Deckits.

Deckits rubs his chin thoughtfully.

Xinza gets a blank look on her face.

Laelithonel's eyes glaze over as she stares, unfocused, into the distance.

Karluth grabs Xinza's hand.

Lylia chuckles.

Lylia grabs Aurach's hand.

Karluth clears his throat.

Laelithonel clasps Abrimel's hand tenderly.

Sarvyis sashays around an imaginary partner in a wide circle while letting my hand rest lightly in his hand.

Deckits smiles at you.

Lylia lifts one arm in a graceful pose, causing the metallic weft of her gown to gleam as her posture shifts.

Deckits whispers, "Forgive me I am terrible at dancing."

Xinza sashays gracefully to stand behind Karluth.

(Karluth steps lightly to the left.)

Speaking quietly in Faendryl to you, Demyse says, "My deepest of reg -    iit matter not. if I may have the pleasure... what is your name,"

Sarvyis says, "Ladies please sashay around your gentleman as such."

Sarvyis says, "Let's put the two together."

Sarvyis says, "Gentlemen step and then the ladies sashay."

Aurach takes a few steps to his left.

Deckits rubs his chin thoughtfully.

Abrimel nods quickly!

Deckits chuckles.

(Lylia takes Aurach's hand in hers and sashays around him in a wide arc.)

Deckits grins.

(Xinza sashays around Karluth again, her steps quick and sure as she moves to the left with him.)

Sarvyis applauds Lylia.

Sarvyis applauds Xinza.

Sarvyis says, "Excellent."

Demyse dances with you.

Speaking encouragingly to Laelithonel, Abrimel says, "It's not hard. Just swish your hips a little."

Lylia inclines her head.

Lylia nods at Abrimel.

Laelithonel shifts her weight.

Laelithonel twirls with Abrimel as they sashay in a graceful circle to the left.

Abrimel beams!

Laelithonel cocks her head at Abrimel.

Sarvyis says, "Very pretty."

(Karluth steps as lightly as he can with Xinza to his left, keeping a fleeting eye on his feet.)

Lylia praises Laelithonel.

Laelithonel flushes slightly, some color reaching her cheeks.

Speaking quietly in Faendryl to you, Demyse says, "One of my House, family wishes to dance with you. As appealing as the moment be, I wish not to rob one who wishes this moment more than myself."

Deckits shakes his head.

Demyse smiles at you.

Speaking in Faendryl to Demyse, Deckits says, "No no, please continue."

Xinza glances between Deckits and Demyse.

Speaking in Faendryl, Deckits says, "I shall watch and learn."

Sarvyis says, "'now for a lift gentlmen."

Deckits nods at Demyse.

Speaking in Faendryl to Karluth, Xinza murmurs, "Pardon me but a moment."

Demyse tries to pull you towards him.

Karluth gives a sidelong glance at Sarvyis.

Speaking in Faendryl to Demyse, Xinza snaps, "Will one of you dance with the girl?"

Karluth turns to face Xinza.

Sarvyis says, "PUSH your partner up to lift her in the air."

Speaking to Xinza, Karluth says, "Of course."

Lylia gives a sidelong glance at Aurach.

Sarvyis says, "Or perhaps we need some music."

Sarvyis taps on the side of the raised oak stage three times.

A small orchestra of musicians wanders in and takes their place in a small alcove of the raised oak stage.

Leading in with a slow introduction, the musicians strike up a lilting waltz.

(Xinza turns back to Karluth.)

Sarvyis says, "There."

Xinza nods at Karluth.

Abrimel glances dubiously at Laelithonel.

Karluth smiles at Xinza.

Sarvyis says, "Now push her up."

Speaking to Aurach, Lylia murmurs, "I am ready if you are."

Speaking to Laelithonel, Abrimel says, "I'll try."

Karluth lifts Xinza up high into the air and twirls with her!

(Aurach lowers his center of gravity slightly at the knees, moving his hands to Lylia's waist and pushing up and into the air as he returns to full height.)

Sarvyis says, "Man you have one more movement."

Speaking quietly to Xinza, Karluth says, "You're light a fresh snow."

(Lylia rests one hand on Aurach's shoulder.)

Sarvyis turns to face Aurach.

The buoyant strains of the waltz fills the room, the theme edged with a sonorous quality.

Sarvyis says, "You got it."

Sarvyis quickly sets his partner down on the floor and pulls her close as his feet guide hers in a fast dance.

Lylia lifts one arm in a graceful pose, causing the metallic weft of her gown to gleam as her posture shifts.

Aurach inclines his head.

Xinza chuckles to herself.

Sarvyis says, "You will set her down and begin a quick dance about the room."

(Aurach stands there holding her in the air.)

The air about Demyse stops shimmering.

Gentle chiming sounds accompany the soft music as it picks up in pace, the triple meter now lively and upbeat.

Karluth glances around the room.

(Abrimel wobbles a little, then drops Laelithonel uncerimoniously back to her feet, panting.)

Lylia grins impishly.

Sarvyis says, "Now let's put them together."

Sweeping notes from a harpsichord blend seamlessly with the other instruments as the music takes on a softer tone.

Speaking incredulously to Sarvyis, Karluth asks, "A fast dance?"

Lylia raises her voice in merry laughter.

Abrimel dances lightly across the dance floor with Laelithonel.

Karluth clears his throat.

Sarvyis says, "PUSh your partner up and then set her down while moving in a fast dance."

Xinza gazes in amusement at Karluth.

Winding through an exuberant scale passage, the musicians easily maintain the rhythm of the waltz before returning to its main theme.

Aurach sways back and forth.

Karluth lifts Xinza up high into the air and twirls with her!

Speaking to Abrimel, Laelithonel says, "Ah believe in ya."

Lylia sways to and fro as she dances.

Karluth dances lightly across the dance floor with Xinza.

Lylia moves in a slow circle, and the glittering skirts of her gown catch the light.

Speaking quietly in Faendryl to you, Demyse remarks, "A enchanting as you all. I wish not to steal all of your glory in dancing."

Karluth grins at Xinza.

Deckits rubs his chin thoughtfully.

Demyse steals a kiss as he sways with you across the dance floor.

Sarvyis says, "Please someone dance with the lady."

The musicians formulate a rousing conclusion to the waltz, though they ultimately conclude with a quiet coda.

Sarvyis turns to face you.

Demyse smiles.

Laelithonel beckons you closer with a slow curl of her forefinger.

Sarvyis says, "I am confused as well."

Lylia grins at Laelithonel.

Speaking encouragingly to Xinza, Karluth says, "Well, you seem to be doing fine as is."

Demyse takes a few steps back.

Laelithonel turns to face you.

Abrimel nods quickly!

Laelithonel dramatically spins away from you and fluidly drops into a curtsy with one foot sliding gracefully forward before rising to meet your eyes with a grin.

Speaking to Aurach, Lylia says, "You are quite light on your feet."

Sarvyis asks, "Can we put this altogether?"

Speaking in Faendryl, Demyse quietly says, "All the more reason to step back, if I am not known."

Demyse smiles.

Aurach pulls his faenor-hued surcoat aside for a moment.

Aurach runs a hand across the front of his armor and a few wisps of vapor stream out behind his fingertips.

Deckits chuckles.

Lylia adds, "And I am pleased you are not heavy on my feet, either."

Sarvyis says, "Men to the left... ladies sashay around."

The quiet strumming of a single mandolin quite suddenly transforms into a jaunty tune as other instruments join in the composition.

Abrimel strides over to stand before Deckits.

With the quick, lively beat of a country dance, several shawms keep time with the light tapping of the musicians' feet.

(Lylia deftly switches hands to rest her right hand in Aurach's and circles around him in the other direction.)

Laelithonel peers quizzically at Abrimel.

Speaking to Demyse, Laelithonel says, "Mine."

Speaking to Xinza, Karluth says, "You mean, I forgot that part."
