A flustered coblynau wandered into a local tavern in Evermore Hollow and said, "I just had to get out of Thistlegear Enclave for awhile.  You would not believe what is happening!"

The gjenganger bartender, sensing a good story, got the cobylnau a drink and set him up where everyone could hear his story.  After several hearty swallows of the house specialty, a less flustered and more fortified coblynau began his tale.  

To hear the coblynau tell it, the enclave had suffered an attack in the middle of the night.  Bandits had crept in hoping to raid the farm stores and perhaps pilfer some other goods as well.  They came in massive numbers, more than ever before, so all their stealth was for naught and they were quickly discovered.

Many in the tavern were surprised to learn that some cursed beast known as a flitraegt protected the enclave, and the coblynau spoke of this Lord Casivit in a mixture of awe and fear.  He had come and rampaged through the bandits, tearing many apart with his own beastly hands, but their numbers were too great, and Casivit let loose a small clockwork golem army to ensure the enclave was entirely protected.  

Unfortunately, these clockwork devices, while effective, were obliterated in the fight, and afterwards, Lord Casivit demanded recompense in the form of extraordinary amounts of gears and other clockwork engineering parts.  The enclave could not meet the price, the coblynau said, taking several additional large drinks (and having his glass continually refilled by the rapt bartender).

"So he came back today," the coblynau muttered, "And do you know what that town council did?!"  He paused dramatically, waving his glass in the air and sloshing its contents about with abandon.  The crowd he had drawn whispered, "No, what?" in unison.

"They gave him the ivsenra!"  When his crowd looked blankly at him, the coblynau explained that an ivsenra was sort of like a bookworm, and Thistlegear Enclave was in possession of one coblynau named Brixt who seemed to always have his nose in a book and no talent for anything else.  "Nice fella," the coblynau said quickly, "Just kinda useless and all."

"Still," he continued morosely, "Saying he needs to go be a companion to that cursed beast was cruel."

Several more swallows ensued.  "Anyways," he finished up, "I think that engineer lass, Pennysel, she's going to try to rescue him, but he's as scary as the bandits!  I just had to leave the enclave for a bit.  Thought I might try the Hollow for awhile.  Safer here, I imagine.  Less bears with feathers."

And after that, the coblynau grew silent, and the tavern gradually returned to its normal state, but there was an undercurrent of muttering, and several locals slipped out to spread the word across Evermore Hollow just in case anyone wanted to go see if they could help.
