Wehnimer's Historical Society

Wehnimer's Historical Society, located at the intersection of Valeria Street and Mikhail Street, holds a collection of player character histories. Adventurers can visit the society and answer a personal questionnaire of over 80 multiple-choice questions on a variety of subjects: Infancy and Early Childhood, Adolescence and Young Adulthood, Adult Life, Opinions, and Religion. Answers to these questions are kept for as long as the adventurer is active in Elanthia and can be revisited at any time.

Mind you, only some adventurers can create character histories in this fashion. Some races (half-Krolvin, Burghal gnomes, forest gnomes, Erithians, and Aelotoi) cannot take the questionnaire. If an adventurer is of a race that the questionnaire does not cover ASKs NPC ABOUT LIST, the NPC will respond, "I'm sorry, we aren't equipped to deal with your kind yet."

Though stooped with age, the collector has not lost his eagle eye for items of historical interest. His clothes hang loosely over his bony frame, themselves remnants of an earlier time. What little hair he has left drifts over his cartilaginous ears like bleached seaweed.

Almost as broad as she is tall, the nursery maid is swathed in an enormous hopsack dress gathered at the waist by a cheerfully-embroidered apron. Her curly brown hair is drawn back in a rope-like braid tied at the end with a blue satin ribbon.

Garbed in faded black robes and a diminutive skullcap, the schoolteacher appears barely cognizant of his surroundings. His left hand shakes of its own accord and his rheumy eyes wander restlessly in their sunken orbits.

Every aspect of the guild clerk, from his neatly brushed black hair to his brightly polished boots, bespeaks efficiency and order. His broad shoulders are perfectly square under his spotless uniform, its tall collar just meeting the bottom of his sharply trimmed beard.

The muted pine green of the spry antiquarian's tailored dress plays nicely against her bright hazel eyes. The only adornment to her otherwise austere look is a garnet-studded hummingbird brooch pinned at her left shoulder. Wisps of silvery blonde hair frame her angular face, the rest of it caught up in a bun at the nape of her neck.

Garbed in a snowy white surplice embroidered with interlocking circles, the monk appears composed and serene. His tonsured hair is an unusual carrot red color, and his beaked nose is dotted with freckles. Clutched in his hand is a well-worn leather prayerbook.

As far as you can tell, the disheveled scribe has been wearing these same clothes for days on end. His shirt, though probably white once upon a time, is now an unremarkable grey speckled with evidence of past meals. The legs of his trousers have clearly been used as handtowels on more than one occasion. Tucked behind one spatulate ear is a mangy, long-forgotten quill.
