SORCERER GUILD CLOSES! IS CHAOS AT HAND?
~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~

Dateline: Day 23 of Charlatos, 5104: Ta'Illistim

With the abrupt closing of the Sorcerer's Guild in Ta'Illistim, the seizing of its funds and then the sudden disappearance of the Guild's leader, there has been both a political and civil uproar within the city. Not one to miss an opportunity to shed some light, I quickly packed some things and set off for the Elven Nations!

The city's unrest was not what I had originally expected. Initially, I imagined the streets filled with protests and acts of violence as cries of injustice and discrimination echoed off the city's walls. Instead, I found most of the outcries were mild and often hushed, mainly shared in the dark corners of taverns or back alleys. Perhaps after the sudden and all too convenient disappearance of the Sorcerer's Guildmaster after his vocal assaults upon the Illistim Queen, many a citizen was frightened into silence.

Further eavesdropping I mean investigating -- proved that rumors are running wild among the people. Some speculate that Queen Myasara may have ordered the silencing of the Sorcerer Guildmaster, while many are quick to defend the Queen's honorable name. Others argue that Guildmaster Vathezir Ath'lune has disappeared on his own accord, slipping off into the night and taking with him many angry and exiled sorcerers to an unknown location.

Those who believe the Guildmaster still lives also believe that he is secretly training up rebel sorcerers in the arts of demonic summoning not far from Illistim's city walls. Whispers of revenge fill some taverns as many of the Illistim residents fear that Queen Myasara may have fueled another war and demonic legions may be quietly stirring on the horizon.

Whatever the truth may be, the rivalry between Illistim wizards and sorcerers has escalated as the new Wizard Guild has opened up after some reconstruction, all of which was paid for by the closing of the Sorcerer's Guild. Conspiracy, civil unrest, murder, demons -- regardless of what is transpiring in Illistim today, I'm getting the hell out of here.

Dateline: Day 23 of Olaesta, 5104: Solhaven

It was only a few short weeks ago that the streets of Haven were littered with the bodies of the brave and honorable souls, Vornavian and Hendoran Guards, as they fought to aid the small town during the Berserker Zerroth's campaign of destruction. The streets may be calmer but the horror has not left them and a new brand of tyranny taints the cobbled lanes. Victims come in all shape and size these days but those that have passed on, or are pained and withering, have left behind mouths to feed and bodies that need clothing.

Do not forget the brave and noble warriors that fought to free the Freeport of the red rages of Zerroth. Do not dismiss the agony that wreaths the men, women and children who must live each day with the loss of their loved ones. Do not turn away from the men and women now bound by the horrors of the Painlord's touch. Do not let the horrors of yesterday starve the children of tomorrow.

Join H.E.R.T., Haven's Emergency Resource Team, in the V.O.W. Fund Clothing drive starting at 9:00 PM on the 28th of Olaesta as we work to gather together clothing items to give to the Vornavian Orphans and Widows. This fund will go to all the families, Vornavian as well as Hendoran and those men and women who were scouts of Kendryth, that have recently lost loved ones. A special food drive will be made for the recent victims of the Painlord's affections at the same time.

We are scheduled to meet in North Market South and hope to have folks share stories of the men and women that were lost. Refreshments will be made available.

SOLHAVEN GRACED BY EMPEROR'S NOD
~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~

Dateline: Day 22 of Olaesta, 5104: Solhaven

The town of Solhaven has received a signal honor from his Serene Highness, the Emperor Aurmont. Once the Emperor had indicated his desire to see a pageant to celebrate the glorious history and culture of the Human race, all the baronies scrambled to earn the honor of hosting it.

After due deliberation, the Emperor gave the nod to Baron Malwind of Vornavis. A stipulation was that part of the celebration be held in Solhaven, so that the lesser races might have the chance to behold the glories of the Human Empire. Rumors are that members of the aristocracy may grace the celebration with their presence. According to one of Solhaven's leading merchant guild members, that would guarantee that the event outshines any other held in Elanthia this Summer.

Solhaven merchants are definitely excited by the opportunity to show their wares. One particularly eager merchant was heard to say, "Forget about the Elves. Humans make the best artists, bar none."

KUON'S DAY FESTIVITIES PLANNED FOR TA'VAALOR
~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~

Dateline: Day 1 of Ivastaen, 5104: Ta'Vaalor

A flurry of activity has enveloped the grounds of Silverwood Manor in the City of Ta'Vaalor as final Kuon's Day preparations are made. A recent inspection by this reporter found Taylir, chief event coordinator, with her team of Kuon devotees, working furiously to provide locals and Kuon's pilgrims alike with a full day of festivities. Opening Ceremonies are scheduled for 10:30 AM Elven on the first, with the celebration continuing all day and into the evening.

Lady Taylir, obviously proud of her team gave me a tour of the Festival Grounds where Augie and Mystianna, up to their ears in greenery, prepared herbs and flowers for creative contests. Meshach was busy putting the finishing touches on Floral Cyclone and an entire bevy of bards could be seen stuffing oddities into a large sack, cackling among themselves.

In a quiet corner of the Silverwood Library Lady Morganwyn was discovered pouring over herb lore and books of botanicals in preparation for Herb Trivia. Sitting at her elbow was a fine stem of Dragonstalk, symbol of the City of Ta'Vaalor. Nearby Lorekeeper Joter labored over charts and books of arcane lore muttering about divine retribution, potential disaster and the displeasure of Kuon. Would that I dared to question him! Alas, he seemed so fierce and focused I was afraid any disturbance might bring the scowl of Kuon upon my own humble head and I tiptoed away. We must all wait for Kuon's Day itself to bring this situation to light.

Missing from the Festival Grounds were Eridal and Rhandi. According to inside sources Rhandi had been scouting the terrain for an event encompassing much of Ta'Vaalor when she vanished. Alarmed at her failure to return, Ranger and master herbologist Eridal set off with a search party and also disappeared. As of this writing, none of the missing have returned. Though the followers of Kuon are deeply concerned over their vanished fellows, plans for festivities will go forward as follows (all times are by the Elven standard):

Day 1 of Ivastaen:
10:30 AM - Starting Ceremonies
12:00 Noon - Crack the Robin's Egg
1:00 PM - Weeds and Wildflowers Part 1
2:00 PM - Floral Bouquet Design Contest
3:00 PM - Get Lost in Ta'Vaalor with the Lorekeepers
4:00 PM - Cyclone
5:00 PM - Herb Mosaic
6:00 PM - Weeds and Wildflowers Part 2
7:00 PM - Stickman Creations
8:00 PM - Ceremony for Kuon
9:00 PM - Story Telling
10:00 PM - Let's Hunt!
11:00 PM - Festival Closing

Rumors from east of the Dragonspine point to a huge change in Elven views of the recent trend of pageant planning. According to sources placed in the courts of Ta'Illistim, Queen Myasara is seriously considering hosting a culture pageant within the city limits.

According to our sources, the Queen is using a petition by Sylvankind to hold a pageant in the city as an excuse to showcase the Elven culture to the "lesser races."

At this time, no further information is available.

GAMBLING NIGHT A SUCCESS!
~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~

Dateline: Day 21 of Olaesta, 5104: Wehnimer's Landing

Moonshine Manor hosted its first Gambling Night this past 21st of Olaesta. The dice game, dubbed "The Eyes of the Assassin" was hosted by Fremie Dractila, an officer of Moonshine Manor. The games began around 9:00 PM Elven time at a Wayside Inn table, with the stakes starting low at a mere one thousand silvers, and often reaching so high as two-hundred and fifty thousand a roll! There were plenty of high-stakes winners, yet also an even amount of losers. But with a free unique drinking stein to anyone who showed up, everyone was a winner! While the games only lasted four hours, the fun is far from over!

Moonshine Manor will be hosting a seasonal Gambling Night, four times a year! Expect the next games to be held within two months! So, spread the word and tell your friends, save up your silvers and sell your bed! Get prepared for the next go around! Either way, Moonshine Manor's first Gambling Night was a success! Fun, free drinks and merriment to be had by all!

Wish you were there!
