Once vibrant tapestries, their images now soiled and lost to mildew, cover the rotted oak floorboards partially submerged into swampy muck. A series of modular cubbies leans against one wall, with a skeletal tree of sharpened bones beside it. Hanging from a patinated copper rod is a shredded velvet curtain leading to the back office.

Desiccated strips of scalp, with locks of hair still attached, hang on small hooks descending from the ceiling. Some pillows of patchwork leather in varied tones lay scattered about the floor of broken and brittle oak boards. A makeshift stand supports a gracefully posed, mummified carcass, with one hand pinned against its hip and the other glued against its cheek. The sickeningly sweet smell of decay lingers in the air. You also see a velvet curtain.
