Gu'hran
Ornate in design, the gu'hran is a traditional lap harp of ancient Sharath used by the lorekeepers of the Dhe'nar in a wide variety of rituals. Normally about four feet in length, the instrument would be balanced on the lap when played. The seven strings are plucked rather than bowed and crafted of the finest silver wrapped in silk threading, the more opulent in su'chao silk. The wide range of the instrument made it versatile and capable of playing an extensive variety of compositions. It is common to see tiny markers under the strings, along the fingerboard, notating the harmonic positions. The shape of these markings will vary from craftsman to performer with stars being prevalent. The instrument, as many others, is made from different types of wood, but the finest produced are created from drakewood.
The gu'hran is not available as a playable instrument, and it would be extremely rare to see one outside of Sharath or Eh'lah.
