Hi, AFALLACE. I saw a couple requests from you for help on [[Talk:Jaired (platinum)]] and [[Talk:Jaired]]. It looks like you may have already resolved the wiki articles to your satisfaction, however I did want to reach out to you in case you needed any further help with your character pages with the upcoming merger. |

Specific to the question about removing [[Jaired (platinum)]] from any categories, such as [[:Category:Player Characters]], since you updated the platinum character page to be a redirect, it is no longer appearing in any categories. Any existing links to the original article will now ultimately redirect to the new prime character page. The inclusion in that category was done automatically with the use of the characterprofile template, and when that was removed from the platinum character page, the page itself was removed from those categories. There is sometimes a delay on the wiki for category updates, but it usually resolves within a few minutes. |

It looks like you were able to successfully update the [[Jaired]] redirect to the new prime character page. |

Everything associated with your edits is perfectly fine, however I did want to offer another option to you if you want to pursue it. If you would like to preserve the original [[Jaired (platinum)]] article but not have it included in [[:Category:Player Characters]], you could do so by reverting your recent edits and then removing the characterprofile template from the article. It would be necessary to remove the template to keep the article from being automatically included in that category. (Having the "instance" field set to blank will still cause the page to be included in the Player Characters category.) The page could be manually added to [[:Category:Platinum player characters]]. Additionally, the [[Jaired]] redirect could be set up as a disambiguation page with two target options of both the platinum and prime versions of the character. If any or all of this is something you would like to do but are not sure of how to go about it, I am happy to do so on your behalf. |
|||
Lastly, you have three subpages that are still associated with the platinum character page. They are: |
|||
* [[Jaired (platinum)/The Faceless]] |
|||
* [[Jaired (platinum)/The Saga of Jaired Delone (short story)]] |
|||
* [[Jaired (platinum)/Walking The Past (short story)]] |
|||
They are fine to remain as they are and where they are on the wiki, however if you would like assistance in moving them to be a subpage associated with [[Jaired (prime)]], I can help with that, too. Please let me know if you want assistance with any of this by responding here or on my user talk page. If I do not hear anything from you, I will assume that you would like things to remain as they are. Hi there, AFALLACE. I'm reaching out to you about recent edits you made to a couple of articles and sub-articles related to [[Jaired (platinum)]] and [[Jaired (platinum)/The Saga of Jaired Delone (short story)]]. There are a couple different accounts that have edited the content of these articles for things other than minor moderation or formatting updates. Only a player or someone to whom they have given permission may update a character's page per [[Gswiki:Policy]]. I do see that you have made nearly all content changes to Jaired's character page since its creation, however they do include substantial edits to the vignette subarticle that was authored by a different account. Can you please clarify where permissions stand for editing these by Jaired's player? I realize this might be a case of having multiple accounts, however there is no way for me to verify this as a moderator. If I don't hear back from you in 7 days, I will flag some of these updates for moderator review. Platinum/Prime Character Pages
Hi, AFALLACE. I saw a couple requests from you for help on Talk:Jaired (platinum) and Talk:Jaired. It looks like you may have already resolved the wiki articles to your satisfaction, however I did want to reach out to you in case you needed any further help with your character pages with the upcoming merger.
Specific to the question about removing Jaired (platinum) from any categories, such as Category:Player Characters, since you updated the platinum character page to be a redirect, it is no longer appearing in any categories.
It looks like you were able to successfully update the Jaired redirect to the new prime character page.
Everything associated with your edits is perfectly fine, however I did want to offer another option to you if you want to pursue it. If you would like to preserve the original Jaired (platinum) article but not have it included in Category:Player Characters, you could do so by reverting your recent edits and then removing the characterprofile template from the article. It would be necessary to remove the template to keep the article from being automatically included in that category. (Having the "instance" field set to blank will still cause the page to be included in the Player Characters category.) The page could be manually added to Category:Platinum player characters. Additionally, the Jaired redirect could be set up as a disambiguation page with two target options of both the platinum and prime versions of the character. If any or all of this is something you would like to do but are not sure of how to go about it, I am happy to do so on your behalf.
Lastly, you have three subpages that are still associated with the platinum character page. They are:
- Jaired (platinum)/The Faceless
- Jaired (platinum)/The Saga of Jaired Delone (short story)
- Jaired (platinum)/Walking The Past (short story)
They are fine to remain as they are and where they are on the wiki, however if you would like assistance in moving them to be a subpage associated with Jaired (prime), I can help with that, too. Please let me know if you want assistance with any of this by responding here or on my user talk page. If I do not hear anything from you, I will assume that you would like things to remain as they are. HOST-GSKEBECHET (talk) 10:42, 3 December 2024 (CST)
Edits to Character Pages/Subpages
Hi there, AFALLACE. I'm reaching out to you about recent edits you made to a couple of articles and sub-articles related to Jaired (platinum) and Jaired (platinum)/The Saga of Jaired Delone (short story). There are a couple different accounts that have edited the content of these articles for things other than minor moderation or formatting updates. Only a player or someone to whom they have given permission may update a character's page per Gswiki:Policy. HOST-GSKEBECHET (talk) 10:15, 17 January 2024 (CST)
The upload on the "saga" page was done by someone that was trying to move all of the storylines from the old forums to the wiki before they shut down. My (The player of Jaired) account AFALLACE should be the only one able to make edits going forward. AFALLACE (talk) 18:48, 17 January 2024 (CST)
- Thank you very much for clarifying! In the future, if you ever intend for another player to edit your character page or its related works, either you (or they) will need to note on that article's talk page that permission was granted to do so. This is part of Gswiki:Policy to help players protect how their own characters are portrayed on the wiki. HOST-GSKEBECHET (talk) 08:14, 23 January 2024 (CST)
Image at Risk for Deletion
Hi there, AFALLACE. I am reaching out to you about an image that you had previously uploaded to the wiki, File:Jairedshadow.jpg. While reviewing recent updates to the wiki, I noticed the image is used on the character page for Jaired (platinum) but it is missing information required by Gswiki:Policy. GSwiki now has a new policy for all images uploaded to it. Please see Gswiki:Policy#Copyrights for more information about that policy and the requirement to note image creators, what AI imaging software was used (if any), and if permission was granted by the creator to upload the image to the wiki. Depending on the nature of this image, you will need to provide specific information about it both on the image file and on any articles using it. In addition, all images using AI software in their creation are required to be included in Category:AI artwork. If that information is not added within 7 days, this image will be deleted from the wiki. If you have any questions about this process or need more information about the updated policy for images, please reach out to the wiki team on the Gemstone forum's wiki thread. Thank you for understanding. HOST-GSKEBECHET (talk) 10:24, 27 September 2023 (CDT)
