A wide mithril belt, also known as the Belt of Kai reduces the encumbrance of the wearer by 4 "levels". This means a race like Giantman gets more benefit than that of a Burghal Gnome.
Properties
- Reduces encumbrance by 4 levels
- The effect occurs as soon as one wears the belt, it is similar to lightening armor by a significant amount in that there is no charges, or magic item use in order to use.
Description
Original Belt Show
The belt is made of tiny mithril links with a clasp engraved with the Symbol of Kai. There seem to be fine strands of metal, veniom by the looks of them, woven between the links
Starsworn's Testing
Tested on a Half-Elf with STR 104 (bonus 27) and CON 100 (bonus 25), using silver coins as a weight baseline (no items, no armor, then repeated with armor worn).
Results:
Without belt, no armor: unencumbered up to 28,185 coins With belt, no armor: unencumbered up to 38,443 coins Without belt, with armor: unencumbered up to 29,068 coins With belt, with armor: unencumbered up to 39,326 coins
The belt consistently added 10,258 coins (~64.1 lbs) of carrying capacity regardless of whether armor was worn, confirming it is a flat bonus. Analysis: Body weight is 251 pounds (Base 82⅓ + (104+100) × 0.8233). The 64.1 lb bonus represents about 25.5% of body weight, which corresponds to moving approximately 2–3 encumbrance message tiers. A heavier character, such as a Human, Half-Krolvin, or Giantman, would have even more benefit.
