DROP, alternately used via PUT, can be used to transfer an item from a character's hands to a container or the floor. Be very careful with this verb, as the default is the floor, and noting a container is required for proper storage. It is important when using this verb to use the keyword MY wherever you can, to avoid putting your item in a container (like a pack) that is left lying on the ground or a bench. Use of the verb STOW is much safer, and should be used wherever possible.
