A main gauche is a defensive off-hand weapon. The name is French meaning, literally, left hand. Typically the weapon is a dagger-like weapon with either an elongated crossguard or three blades used mainly for defense, but can also be used defensively. It is recommeneded that the user train in Edged Weapons and Two Weapon Combat should he wish to use this weapon effectively.
