Usually found in southern forests, ruic trees flourish in areas of mild climate and dependable rainfall. Ruic is usually used to craft bows; used as a magical runestaff or shield it tends to cause a magical backlash to the wielder. This same magical repercussion or 'snap' is discharged when an arrow is shot from a bow, thus harmlessly releasing the magical energy with the arrow.
