The [[haon]] tree is a deciduous tree that can grow up to a hundred feet tall with a wide and rounded crown. The tree is distinctive for the appearance of its bark and leaves. The bark tends to be very smooth with a purplish-grey tint, having an almost glowing quality. The leaves are nearly translucent, allowing light to shine through them. Haon nuts are edible, with a similar quality as chestnuts.
Haon is one of the many species of tree in Elanthia.

The wood of the haon tree has no special magical properties. Petrified haon is valued by jewelers.
