*[[User talk:BARDLIEST]]: Hello again, BARDLIEST. You recently uploaded an image to the wiki, [[:File:Cada Arborsong.png]], that is missing some information required by [[Gswiki:Policy]]. This image is missing the following information:
* [[User_talk:LALAMJ]]: Hello! It has been nice getting to know Abilene on her [[Abilene_(prime)|character page]]. While I was looking at the image on her page, "Abilene.jpeg", I noticed that it did not have information about the original source or that permission was granted to use it. Please see [[Help:Style#Copyrights]] for more information about the requirement to provide the source and artist name for all images uploaded to GSwiki. If you are the artist who created the artwork, you can simply note that instead. If you need an example of how to do this, the character page [[Arenglae (prime)]] does this very clearly for all of the portraits. Thanks for understanding! I'll check back in soon to see if this information has been updated. [[User:HOST-GSKEBECHET|HOST-GSKEBECHET]] ([[User talk:HOST-GSKEBECHET|talk]]) 09:47, 14 September 2022 (CDT)
:* Who created the image?
:* If that person is not you, was permission granted by the artist to upload it?
:* If AI imaging software was used to create it, what is the name of that software?
:* If AI imaging software was used to create it, <nowiki>[[Category:AI artwork]]</nowiki> must be in the image description for inclusion in Category:AI artwork. Please see [[Gswiki:Policy#Copyrights]] for more information about the image policy and its requirement to note image creators, what AI imaging software was used (if any), and if permission was granted by the creator to upload the image to the wiki. This information needs to be on the images as well as on all articles using them. In addition, all images using AI software in their creation are required to be included in [[:Category:AI artwork]]. To add that text to the image file, you will need to click on "Edit Source" on the image file itself and add all of the required information. All articles using this image will also need to have their captions updated to include this required information.
:'''If that information is not added within 7 days, this image will be deleted from the wiki.''' Please do not remove the <nowiki>{{moddelete}}</nowiki> template from the image. Another moderator or I will remove that template after your updates have been reviewed to ensure that they meet [[Gswiki:Policy]] requirements.
:I did see that you uploaded a second very similar image, [[:File:CadaArborSong.png]], which was also missing all required information on the image file itself. However, as you provided caption information for the image on the article featuring it, [[Cada (prime)]], I have already updated this second image to comply with Gswiki:Policy. As copyright information must be clearly stated on the image file ''and'' as a caption for all articles featuring it, just an article caption is not sufficient for these purposes. In addition, any AI-generated images must be included in [[:Category:AI artwork]]. This is done by typing <nowiki>[[Category:AI artwork]]</nowiki> as part of the image's text description. I have already made adjustments to the image file on your behalf, so no action needs to be taken by you this time for this second image. If you would like to see how that is done, you can click on "Edit Source" on [[:File:CadaArborSong.png]] to view it and use that as a basis for how to edit your first image. Please be aware that any future images that do not include all required information on both the image file and all articles featuring them will be flagged for moderator review.
:If you have any questions about this process or need more information about the updated policy for images, please reach out to the wiki team on the Gemstone [https://discord.com/channels/226045346399256576/1061330227843833926 Discord forum's wiki thread]. * [[User talk:ALLENM20]]: Hello! I enjoyed viewing the artwork on your character page for [[Nemdenia (platinum)]]. While I was reviewing the recent updates on it, I noticed that you did not include the artist or copyright information on the page itself for the image that you uploaded, "Nemdenia Portrait.png". That information must be noted on the page using the image, not just in the image's metadata. * [[User talk:FEREVER]]: Hi again, FEREVER. Thank you very much for including the copyright information on all of your recent images and their article captions! This helps a lot in terms of wiki moderation. As a reminder, any images created with AI software also need to be included in [[:Category:AI artwork]]. This is done by typing <nowiki>[[Category:AI artwork]]</nowiki> as part of the image's text description. I have added it on your behalf for the images you recently uploaded, so no action needs to be taken by you for them. If you would like to see how that is done, you can click on "Edit Source" on any of the image files to see it. Please be aware that any future AI-generated images will be flagged if they do not include this category. Thank you for understanding. * [[User talk:KITHUS]]: Hi, there! Thank you very much for your many contributions to the wiki. While doing some patrols of recently (and not-so-recently) updated pages, I noticed that you uploaded several images for guides you authored that do not have artist or copyright information on the pages where they are displayed. Specifically, I am referring to "Issalya_portrait.jpg" on [[Comprehensive Wizard Guide]]; "Necromancer.jpg" on [[Comprehensive Sorcerer Guide]]; "Bard_Weapons.jpg" on [[Comprehensive Bard Guide]]; "Ranger_and_wolf.jpg" on [[Comprehensive Ranger Guide]]; plus "Empath.jpg", "Warpath.jpg", and "Dissector.jpg" on [[Elanthia 5e]]. In addition, I could not find anything about the various Arkati symbols on the [[Elanthia 5e]] page; they appear to be made and uploaded specifically for it.

* [[User talk:SED17]]: Hi there, SED17. You recently uploaded an image, [[:File:Nalira.webp]] to the wiki that did not have all of the information where it needed to be as required by [[Gswiki:Policy]]. I was able to see that you included the needed information in some, but not all, required locations, so I have adjusted the image to comply with Policy with the text you provided as an image caption. As a reminder, copyright information must be clearly stated on the image file and as a caption for all articles featuring it. Just an article caption is not sufficient for these purposes. In addition, any AI-generated images must be included in [[:Category:AI artwork]]. This is done by typing <nowiki>[[Category:AI artwork]]</nowiki> as part of the image's text description. * [[User talk:INDIFFERENT]]: Hello! I enjoyed reading about your character, Esana. While I was reviewing updates on her character page [[Esana (prime)]], I noticed that you did not include the artist or copyright information on the page itself the image [[:File:Esana.jpg]] that was recently added to it. Please see [[Help:Style#Copyrights]] for more information about the requirement to provide the source and artist name for all images uploaded to GSwiki. If you are the artist who created the image, you can simply note that instead. If you need an example of how to do this, the character page [[Arenglae (prime)]] does this very clearly for all of the portraits. Additionally, if the image was created using AI software, you will need to note what software was used to create it. Unfortunately simply stating that you own the copyright to the image is not sufficient. As an example, it can be as simple as, "Image created by the uploader using MidJourney" (or whatever software is appropriate). Thanks for understanding! I'll check back in soon to see if this information has been updated. [[User:HOST-GSKEBECHET|HOST-GSKEBECHET]] ([[User talk:HOST-GSKEBECHET|talk]]) 08:30, 4 January 2023 (CST)

* [[User talk:ZEUS]]: Hello! I enjoyed reading about your character, Sayakah. * [[User talk:BURGHALGNOME]]: Hi there, BURGHALGNOME. I enjoyed reading the recent article you helped write, [[Black Thorn Resistance/Free North News Issue 3|Free North News Issue 3]]. Thank you for including which AI software was used for the accompanying images with the article. However, I did notice that you did not include full attribution information for them, such as who created them (for four of the six images) or if permission was granted to upload them (for the ones that you did not create). The seven images are as follows:
:* [[:File:THAT advertisement.png]] - Was this image uploaded with permission by the creator?
:* [[:File:THAT recruitment.png]] - Was this image uploaded with permission by the creator?
:* [[:File:Lithnobasket.png]] - Who generated this image? Was it uploaded with permission by the creator if that person is not you?
:* [[:File:Thornimpfashion1.png]] - Who generated this image? Was it uploaded with permission by the creator if that person is not you?
:* [[:File:Thornimpfashion2.png]] - Who generated this image? Was it uploaded with permission by the creator if that person is not you?
:* [[:File:Thornimpfashion3.png]] - Who generated this image? Was it uploaded with permission by the creator if that person is not you?
:Please see [[Help:Style#Copyrights]] for more information about the requirement to provide the source and artist name for all images uploaded to GSwiki. If you are the artist who created the five with no person cited, you can simply note that instead. If you need an example of how to do this, the character page [[Arenglae (prime)]] does this very clearly for all of the portraits. Thanks for understanding! I'll check back in soon to see if this information has been updated. [[User:HOST-GSKEBECHET|HOST-GSKEBECHET]] ([[User talk:HOST-GSKEBECHET|talk]]) 09:08, 2 May 2023 (CDT)
::Correction: [[:File:Freenorthnews.png]] does have full attribution information on the image itself. You can disregard the above for this specific image. I will be editing the Free North News Issue 3 article to update the attribution information for that displayed image. Apologies for that oversight. Uploaded Image Patrols

Ongoing record of images needing copyright/attribution information added.

  • Who created the image?
  • If that person is not you, was permission granted by the artist to upload it?
  • If AI imaging software was used to create it, what is the name of that software?
  • If AI imaging software was used to create it, [[Category:AI artwork]] must be in the image description for inclusion in Category:AI artwork. Please see Gswiki:Policy#Copyrights for more information about the image policy and its requirement to note image creators, what AI imaging software was used (if any), and if permission was granted by the creator to upload the image to the wiki. This information needs to be on the images as well as on all articles using them. In addition, all images using AI software in their creation are required to be included in Category:AI artwork. To add that text to the image file, you will need to click on "Edit Source" on the image file itself and add all of the required information. All articles using this image will also need to have their captions updated to include this required information.
If that information is not added within 7 days, this image will be deleted from the wiki. Please do not remove the {{moddelete}} template from the image. Another moderator or I will remove that template after your updates have been reviewed to ensure that they meet Gswiki:Policy requirements.
I did see that you uploaded a second very similar image, File:CadaArborSong.png, which was also missing all required information on the image file itself. However, as you provided caption information for the image on the article featuring it, Cada (prime), I have already updated this second image to comply with Gswiki:Policy. As copyright information must be clearly stated on the image file and as a caption for all articles featuring it, just an article caption is not sufficient for these purposes. In addition, any AI-generated images must be included in Category:AI artwork. This is done by typing [[Category:AI artwork]] as part of the image's text description. I have already made adjustments to the image file on your behalf, so no action needs to be taken by you this time for this second image. If you would like to see how that is done, you can click on "Edit Source" on File:CadaArborSong.png to view it and use that as a basis for how to edit your first image. Please be aware that any future images that do not include all required information on both the image file and all articles featuring them will be flagged for moderator review.
If you have any questions about this process or need more information about the updated policy for images, please reach out to the wiki team on the Gemstone Discord forum's wiki thread. Thank you. HOST-GSKEBECHET (talk) 12:03, 2 February 2025 (CST)
