Cavalcade of Mounts

Event Information

Date: May 19, 2024

Time: 9:00 p.m. Eastern

Location: Beginning at the Vornavis Gate of Tears (5576) and parading to the Vornavis Keep.

Description: The Orders of the Silver Gryphon and Azure Sun invite you to join in the Cavalcade of Mounts on May 19th at 9 P.M. EST! Unfurl your standards, display your crests and coat-of-arms and join our parade starting outside the Gate of Tears (5576), down Dondraek Lane to bivouac at the Vornavis Keep where those who wish may join a competition demonstrating their riding and handling skills alongside their faithful steeds! Judges will declare the top three winners with prizes based on aesthetics of the rider, their mount, and the creativity of their up to three-minute performance.

Schedule

9 P.M. The event will begin with the winner for a smooth grey giant tortoise mount (named "Sparky") raffle to be drawn at the Vornavis North Gate (5576, u2130208). Immediately after, we will parade through from the Gate of Tears to the Vornavis Keep and bivouac. Paraders are encouraged to bring their banners, crests, and such to display their coat of arms and celebrate those they represent.

9:10 P.M. At the keep the rules will be quickly gone over as we set the order of entrants for the demonstration competitions.

9:15 P.M. We will begin with the first entry of the demonstration with a 3-minute time limit, continuing through until we have completed the list of entrants' demonstrations.

9:45-9:50 P.M. The panel of judges will render their decision as to the top three demonstrations judging the entrants for their performance creativity, the aesthetic of the entrant and the aesthetic of the entrant's animal in how they complement each other.

9:55 P.M. Prizes are awarded for the top three entrants, and the first place winner gets to lead the cavalcade through the Gate of Light to Bobo's Toy Park in South Haven, where we will finish with lighting fireworks in celebration.

10:15 P.M. Event closing.

Judging Criteria

Entrants will be scored based on the below criteria.

• Time: presentations should be no longer than three minutes
• Aesthetics of mount: how the companion is outfitted for the event
• Aesthetics of rider/handler: how the presenter is outfitted for the event
• Performance: creativity of the performance itself

Prizes

The top three entrants (with first place choosing first) will choose from:

• A donkey mount
• A fully unlocked saddlebag
• A mount grooming kit
