LISTEN is a roleplaying verb.
Messaging
- LISTEN - You listen, but don't hear anything unusual. Player inclines his ear, but doesn't hear anything unusual.
- LISTEN {item} (item not held) - Player turns an ear towards {item}.
- LISTEN {item} (item held) - Player holds {item} up to her ear.
- LISTEN {person} - Player turns an inquisitive ear towards {person}.
- LISTEN {self} - Player turns an inquisitive ear towards herself.
Listening to seashells may give special messaging.
For sylvans:
- LISTEN - You incline your ear in the direction of the natural air currents and intently focus on the slightest sound within your environment.
- LISTEN {self} - You listen quietly to the sounds of nature all around you, letting your heartbeat slow to join in perfect time with the pulsating rhythm of life.
- LISTEN {person} - You tilt your head slightly toward {person}, noting the subtle changes in his muscles and breathing.
- LISTEN {person} (dead) - You tilt your head slightly toward {person}, noting the absence of breath in the body.
- LISTEN {creature} - Raising the tips of your fingers briefly to one earlobe, you focus your hearing on the minute sounds of {creature}'s internal life force.
- LISTEN {item} (not held) - You lean in toward the {item}, pricking up your ears in an attempt to register every sound the {item} emits from the play of environmental forces upon it.
