Divided in half symmetrically, the main room of the cottage is decorated in dark somber tones on one side and light cheerful hues on the other. Display racks match in height and size, only their composition is different, creating a kind of opposing mirror visual. The center has been left clear for customers to pause as they consider which half of the cottage to peruse first. Stark torches flicker from their brackets on the shadow wall, opposed by clear, half-circle sconces glimmering parallel. You also see a pale haon hanging rack, a dark thanot hanging rack, a discreet neatly lettered sign, a thanot rack list, a haon rack list and a castle-shaped wooden arch.

Disturbingly, this small alcove is a complete disparity from the main part of the cottage. Skilled trompe-l'oeil has been applied to the walls, the rendering of clouds all around creating the despairing illusion of floating. Fanciful designs of feathers drift here and there in hues of fuchsia, cerulean, and twilight. Atop several clouds are playful circus scenes featuring striped tents and ferris wheels, flying pennants and strung with lanterns, but they are devoid of any customers. You also see a small oval modwir table.
