Lord Cholen is the god of festivals. Possessed of a beautiful voice and a beautiful face, he is joyful and playful. To honor him, visit the tavern of Hagatha and sing a song honoring Lord Cholen. The monk approaches you and cheerfully says, "It is good to see you again, Alastir. Your dedication to the Order is a fine example for others to follow. Now let me explain a little more about our order and its history." > The monk smiles and says, "The Great Spirit Voln came to the rescue of our founder, Lord Fasthr, and his men, who were fighting a desperate battle against the undead. Voln took pity on their situation and taught them some of his personal secrets in fighting the undead." > The monk continues, "You have already learned some useful symbols. When fighting the undead, you may encounter creatures of unusual power. Voln showed his prowess when he taught us how to temporarily diminish the power of our foes, so that we might more easily vanquish them." > The monk formally pronounces, "Now watch carefully and learn the Symbol of Diminishment." The monk traces an intricate symbol in the air which seems to glow brightly. The image intensifies and burns itself into your memory. The monk continues, "By concentrating on this Symbol, you will be able to call upon the favor of Lord Cholen to temporarily diminish the combat prowess of a targeted undead foe. This Symbol grows in strength as you progress on the Path to Enlightenment." The monk concludes ceremoniously, "You must continue to earn the favor of the Lords of Liabo by dedicating yourself to the Order's purposes. Consider carefully before you call upon their favor, for it must be carefully nurtured. Return when you are ready to take the next step along the Path to Enlightenment. Go now and continue your work."
Step 5:
The monk approaches you and says, "Welcome back, Alastir. I see that Voln has continued to favor you with his blessing. You are doing well in your dedication to the Order. Now there is more that I must explain to you." > The monk solemnly says, "Now that you have honored Lord Cholen, it is time to honor his twin brother, Jastev, and complete the fifth task. Listen carefully and do not forget what I tell you." > The monk continues, "The fifth step along the Path to Enlightenment is governed by Lord Jastev. As with the Lords before, you must perform a task which honors Jastev. Though he is the god of visual arts, he is partial to dark poetry. Though sullen, he is an artistic genius. Your task is to recite poetry before death's gate which both honors Jastev and reflects his demeanor. Return here when you have completed this task."
- ;go2 [Glaise Cnoc, Cemetery - 5834]
- recite Lord Jastev is a sullen soul.;Lord Jastev is artistic indeed.;Lord Jastev is the self-possessed.;Lord Jastev is morbid true,;Lord Jastev is serious, too.
- ;go2 [The Path to Enlightenment - 25940]
The monk approaches you and says hollowly, "You have done well, Alastir. Your dedication to the Order is a fine example for others to follow. Now, pause a moment and meditate on what I have to say." > The monk continues, "When the Great Spirit Voln agreed to teach the founders of our order, they first made their home in Tafali Manor. This became the site of our first monastery." > The monk pauses a moment before continuing. "You have learned some useful symbols with which you may prepare equipment to strike the undead and diminish our foes, but Voln knew that this would not be enough, and showed us how to increase our skills to hit our opponents." > The monk formally pronounces, "Now watch carefully and learn the Symbol of Courage." The monk traces an intricate symbol in the air which seems to glow brightly. The image intensifies and burns itself into your memory. The monk continues, "By concentrating on this Symbol, you will be able to call upon the favor of Lord Jastev, who will grant you greater courage. This Symbol grows in strength and duration as you progress on the Path of Enlightenment. You should also know that the courage that Lord Jastev lends us allows us to better resist the dreadful fear that certain undead can inspire." The monk concludes ceremoniously, "You must continue to earn the favor of the Lords of Liabo by dedicating yourself to the Order's purposes. Consider carefully before you call upon their favor, for it must be carefully nurtured. Return when you are ready to take the next step along the Path to Enlightenment. Go now and continue your work."
Step 6:
The monk approaches you and says, "Welcome back, Alastir. I see that Voln has continued to favor you with his blessing. You are doing well in your dedication to the Order. Now there is more that I must explain to you." > The monk smiles and says, "Now that you have honored Lord Jastev, it is time to honor Imaera and complete the sixth task. Listen carefully and do not forget what I tell you." > The monk continues, "The sixth step along the Path to Enlightenment is governed by Lady Imaera. As you have done previously, you must perform a task which honors her. She is mistress of plants and nature, and to honor her, you must bring some of her lace to her quiet meadow shrine. When you place it there, you will know that she is pleased. Return here when you have completed this task."
- ;go2 [Ta'Vaalor, Garden of Ancients - 10375]
- Forage for lace
- ;go2 [Rambling Meadows, Shrine - 6011]
- Offer lace to Imaera
- ;go2 [The Path to Enlightenment - 25944]
The monk hurries over to you and exuberantly exclaims, "You are doing nicely, Alastir! Your dedication continues to grow as you follow the path. Take a moment now to relax and meditate on what I have to say." > The monk puts an arm around you, saying, "Voln taught Lord Fasthr and his men for three years. At that time, and long afterward, the only members were Giantmen. That, of course, has since changed." > The monk continues, "You are learning well the symbols with which we fight the undead. Now you may learn the Symbol of Protection, whereby we may increase our ability to defend ourselves." > The monk formally pronounces, "Now watch carefully and learn the Symbol of Protection." The monk traces an intricate symbol in the air which seems to glow brightly. The image intensifies and burns itself into your memory. The monk continues, "By concentrating on this Symbol, you will be able to call upon the favor of Lady Imaera who will grant you greater protection. This Symbol grows in strength and duration as you progress on the Path of Enlightenment." The monk concludes ceremoniously, "You must continue to earn the favor of the Lords of Liabo by dedicating yourself to the Order's purposes. Consider carefully before you call upon their favor, for it must be carefully nurtured. Return when you are ready to take the next step along the Path to Enlightenment. Go now and continue your work."
Step 7:
- ;go2 [The Path to Enlightenment - 25967]
The monk approaches you and says, "Welcome back, Alastir. I see that Voln has continued to favor you with his blessing. You are doing well in your dedication to the Order. Now there is more that I must explain to you." > The monk frowns and says, "Now that you have honored Lady Imaera, you must honor the Lord Charl. Charl is Lord of the Seas and has a temperament befitting them. Listen carefully and do not forget what I tell you." > The monk scowls before continuing. "The seventh step along the Path to Enlightenment requires that you perform a task which honors Charl. Be careful that you do not upset this Lord, as he is merciless in his anger. To please him, you must offer back to him that which was taken from his sea. Cast it into the Lake of Fear so that it might return to Charl's domain. Return here when you have completed this task."
- You must have a piece of coral for this task.
- ;go2 [Lake of Fear, South Dock - 10119]
- put coral (do not drop)
- ;go2 [The Path to Enlightenment - 25967]
The monk approaches you and says, "I am pleased, Alastir, that you continue in your dedication to the Order. Now hear what I have to say and meditate upon it carefully." > The monk turns and looks directly at you. "We are not a secret society. We live in the open. Our dedication is to freeing the undead from their curse. We have no other agenda." > The monk continues, "Lord Charl taught us how to master the undead and force their submission. When you use this symbol, they will drop their guard completely and prostrate themselves before you." > The monk formally pronounces, "Now watch carefully and learn the Symbol of Submission." The monk traces an intricate symbol in the air which seems to glow brightly. The image intensifies and burns itself into your memory. The monk continues, "By concentrating on this Symbol, you will be able to force the submission of the targeted undead creature, whereby they will not defend themselves. Like other Symbols, this will require favors from you." The monk concludes ceremoniously, "You must continue to earn the favor of the Lords of Liabo by dedicating yourself to the Order's purposes. Consider carefully before you call upon their favor, for it must be carefully nurtured. Return when you are ready to take the next step along the Path to Enlightenment. Go now and continue your work."
Step 8:
- ;go2 [The Path to Enlightenment - 25966]
The monk approaches you and says, "Welcome back, Alastir. I see that Voln has continued to favor you with his blessing. He is pleased with your dedication to the Order. Listen carefully as I explain more to you." > The monk enthusiastically says, "Now that you have honored Lord Charl and survived, you must now honor Lord Kai. Kai is the master of weaponless combat and athletic skills. Listen carefully and do not forget what I tell you." > The monk continues, "The eighth step along the Path to Enlightenment requires that you perform a task which honors Kai. Find the place which honors him and there challenge him to an appropriate competition. Return here when you have completed this task."
- ;go2 [Hall of the Arkati, Alcove - 13495]
- say 'Kai, I challenge you to wrestle
- Fight!
You mouth the words, but you can't hear them! You hear someone chuckling from behind you. Whirling around, you see Kai with a grin from ear to ear. > Kai glances at you and says, "Well, what have we got here? So, Alastir, you have come to challenge me to a wrestling match. I hope you have some deeds!" Kai bellows with laughter, then, after wiping a tear from his cheek, motions for you to attack. He has a wide grin on his face and you are getting a queasy feeling about this. > Kai suddenly raises his arms up and growls loudly at you. You duck and back away, much to Kai's amusement. ... Kai feints a punch, making you flinch again. You are beginning to feel this "challenge" was a big mistake. If your head would quit swimming, maybe you could figure a way out. Kai dances around you masterfully displaying his ability to out maneuver you. Each time you lose sight of him, he touches you on the top of your head. This is humiliating. ... Kai bows to you with a twinkle in his eye and a grin on his face. "You are a mighty warrior of uncommon power or stupidity. I accept your devotion." He then gestures slightly and disappears without a trace. You feel overwhelmed by a sudden tingling sensation that seems to course through your body. You feel intense satisfaction at a task well done.
- ;go2 [The Path to Enlightenment - 25966]
The monk approaches you and smirks slightly. "Very good, Alastir. I trust that your bout went well? You continue to make progress and that is an excellent thing. Now meditate on what I have to say." > The monk puts a hand on your shoulder. "Never forget that we receive our strength and powers from the Lords of Liabo. You must continue to honor them if you wish to continue with our order." > The monk continues, "Lord Kai has taught us how to damage the undead, using nothing but our bodies. For those of us who fight the undead without steel or magic, this ability is vital to our success." The monk formally pronounces, "Now watch carefully and learn Kai's Strike." The monk traces an intricate symbol in the air which seems to glow brightly. The image intensifies and burns itself into your memory. The monk continues, "By concentrating on this Symbol, you will be able to damage undead creatures with your unarmed combat attacks. Kai grants you this ability without requiring favors from you." The monk concludes ceremoniously, "You must continue to earn the favor of the Lords of Liabo by dedicating yourself to the Order's purposes. Consider carefully before you call upon their favor, for it must be carefully nurtured. Return when you are ready to take the next step along the Path to Enlightenment. Go now and continue your work."
Step 9:
- ;go2 [The Path to Enlightenment - 25965]
The monk approaches you and says, "Welcome back, Alastir. I see that Voln has continued to favor you with his blessing. He is pleased with your dedication to the Order. Listen carefully as I explain more to you." > The monk grins and says, "Now that you have honored Lord Kai and are still in one piece, you must now honor Lord Phoen. Phoen is god of the Summer and Sun. He draws and gives strength from the light of day. Now, listen carefully and do not forget what I tell you." > The monk continues, "The ninth step along the Path to Enlightenment requires that you perform a task which honors Phoen. Bring the light and warmth of the sun into a place that sees little life normally. Return here when you have completed this task."
- ;go2 [Clentaran's Clerical Supply - 10372]
- Buy - 1. a candle votive
- ;go2 [The Path to Enlightenment - 25965]
- Light votive with fire
- ;go2 [Catacomb, Entrance - 10685]
- Wave votive
- ;go2 [The Path to Enlightenment - 25965]
The monk pulls you aside, smiling. "It is good to see you again, Alastir. Everyone is pleased with your progress. Be diligent and your progress will continue without interruption." > The monk turns you around and looks in your eyes. "Many fearless warriors have made it this far. Few make it much further, unless they are careful and do not become overconfident." > The monk continues, "While the living are drawn to the light, undead are unnaturally repelled by it. Lord Phoen has taught us how to harness the power of the Sun and use it to cleanse the cursed forms of the undead." > The monk formally pronounces, "Now watch carefully and learn the Symbol of Holiness." The monk traces an intricate symbol in the air which seems to glow brightly. The image intensifies and burns itself into your memory. The monk continues, "By concentrating on this Symbol, you will be able to call upon the favor of Lord Phoen to burn the impure body of a targeted undead creature. Like other Symbols, this will require favor from you." The monk concludes ceremoniously, "You must continue to earn the favor of the Lords of Liabo by dedicating yourself to the Order's purposes. Consider carefully before you call upon their favor, for it must be carefully nurtured. Return when you are ready to take the next step along the Path to Enlightenment. Go now and continue your work."
Step 10:
- ;go2 [The Path to Enlightenment - 25964]
The monk approaches you and says, "Welcome back, Alastir. I see that Voln has continued to favor you with his blessing. You are doing well in your dedication to the Order. Now there is more that I must explain to you." > The monk somberly continues. "Now that you have honored Lord Phoen, you must now honor Lady Lorminstra. Lorminstra is special to us because Voln is her servant. She guards the gates to oblivion. She takes special interest in our cause and is pleased when we release the captive spirits of the undead." > The monk continues, "The tenth step along the Path to Enlightenment requires that you perform a task which honors Lorminstra. Obtain an appropriate healing item and offer it up to her with supplication. If she is pleased, you will know it. Return here when you have completed this task."
- ;go2 [Hall of the Arkati, Altar - 10370]
- Put an herb on the alter and PRAY
- ;go2 [The Path to Enlightenment - 25964]
The monk pulls you aside, smiling warmly. "I was speaking to a fellow initiate who knows you. It seems you have quite a reputation in certain circles." The monk chuckles a little before continuing... > The monk looks at you with a sparkle in his eyes. "You look seasoned enough to have experienced many unusual situations. Perhaps you have fallen in battle against undead foes, but were saved from oblivion by Lady Lorminstra's grace and the timely intervention of a cleric?" > The monk continues, "Such ordeals are draining and often time-consuming. Prompt return to battle is often hindered by the loss of magical wards upon death. Recasting one's spells quickly is difficult due to the often draining effects of death, and the loss of spells cast by others may be difficult to replace. Fortunately, Lorminstra has taught us a way to quickly restore our lost wards and spells upon returning to life." > The monk formally pronounces, "Now watch carefully and learn the Symbol of Recall." The monk traces an intricate symbol in the air which seems to glow brightly. The image intensifies and burns itself into your memory. The monk continues, "By concentrating on this Symbol after you have fallen in battle, Lorminstra will grant you a boon by restoring some or all of your magical wards upon your return to life. Be aware that Lorminstra is not fond of those who give up on their battle and voluntarily allow their spirit to depart from their body, and will not grant her boon in such cases. Lorminstra does not grant this boon freely, she will require favors from you." The monk concludes ceremoniously, "You must continue to earn the favor of the Lords of Liabo by dedicating yourself to the Order's purposes. Consider carefully before you call upon their favor, for it must be carefully nurtured. Return when you are ready to take the next step along the Path to Enlightenment. Go now and continue your work."
Step 11:
- ;go2 [The Path to Enlightenment - 25963]
The monk approaches you and says, "Hello, Alastir. Voln has favored you with his blessing. This is good. We are pleased with your dedication to the Order. Listen carefully as I explain more to you." > The monk smiles sardonically and says, "Now that you have honored Lady Lorminstra, you must now honor Lord Ronan. Ronan rules over the world of dreams and visions. He wanders the night on his white unicorn steed in an endless quest to save the innocent from the hands of the undead." > The monk continues. "The eleventh step along the Path to Enlightenment requires that you perform a task which honors Ronan. Go rest in the Hall of the Arkati and you will be tested. If he is pleased with you, you will know it. Return here when you have completed this task."
- ;go2 [Garden of Contemplation - 13494]
- Now LIE down and REST.
>rest You fold your arms behind your head and take a deep breath, relaxing. P> You suddenly fall into a deep sleep. P> A man garbed all in black slowly steps from the depths of a shadow and glances at you. You sense, more then recognize, that this is Ronan striding toward you. A misty, shimmering aura surrounds him and he is holding high one hand in greeting. His face is sardonic and appears a bit sleepy. He eyes you alertly, however, and you feel that Ronan knows exactly what is going on about him. "So, you have come to seek my favor." Speaking as of facts, rather than a question, he continues, "Very well, then. To gain it you must answer me this riddle..." > Ronan continues, "Answer this riddle before your dream is finished and you shall have my favor." "I am the part of the bird that is not in the sky, that can drown in the ocean and yet remain dry. A last vestige of man that refuses to die. In mourning I am tossed at your feet to lie. I begin my job early, devouring your ankles and thighs. I work my way up, eating your legs to your waist. And though around midday away I am chased, I return quickly, to savor the arm of my taste. As evening falls I enter your lungs, spiraling down past your mouth and your tongue. I feast on your body, your soul, and your mind, but as darkness falls you shall find, That away I will go, a relief for some. At least until tomorrow morning comes."
- SAY shadow
- ;go2 [The Path to Enlightenment - 25963]
The monk moves close to you and starts speaking. "Well done. Your progress is being observed with great interest. I trust that you will continue to move higher in the ranks of our good order." > The monk sizes you up a moment and then continues. "Ronan roams the lands of sleep and visions. He knows much that is beyond even our imaginings. From this knowledge he has taught us how we may cause creatures, even the undead, to fall asleep." > The monk goes on, "When overwhelmed by superior odds, you will find this symbol useful. The ability to make creatures sleep can affect every creature where you are, but you must not always expect this to happen, especially before you become a higher-ranking initiate. You will also find that this symbol will cause other adventurers to fall asleep." The monk formally pronounces, "Now watch carefully and learn the Symbol of Sleep." The monk traces an intricate symbol in the air which seems to glow brightly. The image intensifies and burns itself into your memory. The monk continues, "By concentrating on this Symbol, you will be able to send your foes into slumber, but be aware that Ronan does not grant this ability freely. The full power of this symbol is up to you and how far you progress in our order." The monk concludes ceremoniously, "You must continue to earn the favor of the Lords of Liabo by dedicating yourself to the Order's purposes. Consider carefully before you call upon their favor, for it must be carefully nurtured. Return when you are ready to take the next step along the Path to Enlightenment. Go now and continue your work."
Step 12:
- ;go2 [The Path to Enlightenment - 25962]
The monk approaches you and says, "Hello, Alastir. Voln has favored you with his blessing. This is good. We are pleased with your dedication to the Order. Listen carefully as I explain more to you." > The monk serenely says, "Now that you have honored Lord Ronan, you must now honor Lady Lumnis, wife of Koar and the goddess of learning and wisdom." > The monk continues, "The twelfth step along the Path to Enlightenment requires that you perform a task which honors Lumnis. Make the library at Ta'Illistim your aim and seek out a banner of knowledge. When you show your respect there, your path will unfold. Return here when you have completed this task."
- ;go2 [Library Aies, Octagonal Hall - 13233]
- BOW to the banner and LOOK at the banner
- You will be asked a random question.
- Find the correct room.
There's a faint rustle of wind that sweeps through the room and a voice chimes, "You do well to seek out knowledge. Before you have my blessing, you must prove to me you deserve it. Now pay attention. The questions I ask you can be answered by the rooms of this place. Seek the room that answers my question and pray there in hope it is the right place." A voice twinkles in your ear, "The followers of Lumnis preserve knowledge and all the precious types of this." [Library Aies, Hall of Lore - ] (u13106015) >pray You move to a kneeling position and murmur a few prayers. The voice in your head twinkles, "The hall of the lore is indeed correct." The voice once again twinkles in your ear, "There is still more yet I wish you to prove." A voice twinkles in your ear, "Sundials and hourglasses can be used to accurately determine the passing of this." [Library Aies, Hall of Time - ] (u13106017) >pray You move to a kneeling position and murmur a few prayers. The voice in your head twinkles, "The hall of the time is indeed correct." The voice once again twinkles in your ear, "There is still more yet I wish you to prove." A voice twinkles in your ear, "Of the great elven houses, both Ta'Ardenai and Ta'Illistim were ruled by these." [Library Aies, Hall of Queens - ] (u13106007) >pray You move to a kneeling position and murmur a few prayers. The voice in your head twinkles, "The hall of the queens is indeed correct." The voice once again twinkles in your ear, "There is still more yet I wish you to prove." A voice twinkles in your ear, "Sundials and hourglasses can be used to accurately determine the passing of this." [Library Aies, Hall of Time - ] (u13106017) >pray You move to a kneeling position and murmur a few prayers. The voice in your head twinkles, "The hall of the time is indeed correct." The voice once again twinkles in your ear, "There is still more yet I wish you to prove." A voice twinkles in your ear, "The followers of Lumnis preserve knowledge and all the precious types of this." [Library Aies, Hall of Lore - ] (u13106015) >pray You move to a kneeling position and murmur a few prayers. The voice in your head twinkles, "The hall of the lore is indeed correct." A melodious voice in your head says, "You have done well. It shows that you want to progress along the path of Voln. Go with my blessing." You are overwhelmed by a sudden tingling sensation that seems to course through your body. You feel intense satisfaction at a task well done.
- ;go2 [The Path to Enlightenment - 25962]
The monk draws you aside and says, "It is good to see you are progressing well in the Order. Keep up the good work by continuing to release the undead from the evil prison of their corrupted bodies." > The monk continues, "Lumnis is the wife of Koar and is the patron of scholars and masters of thought. She is also known as The Wise, spreading wisdom wherever she can. From her, we have learned how to transcend corporeal existence, if only for a time." > The monk continues, "We are often thrust into dangerous situations where we are at great risk of bodily harm. To aid us, Lumnis taught us a way to temporarily slip into the place between the corporeal and ethereal realms. We do not fully leave this realm, but we do become much harder to injure at no cost to our own offensive effectiveness." > The monk formally pronounces, "Now watch carefully and learn the Symbol of Transcendence." The monk traces an intricate symbol in the air which seems to glow brightly. The image intensifies and burns itself into your memory. The monk continues, "By concentrating on this Symbol, you will be able to call upon the favor of Lady Lumnis, who will grant you the ability to become partially incorporeal. The ability to slip between realms is draining, and can only be re-attempted after a short rest. You may also invoke this symbol while in dire circumstances, though a longer rest period will be required. Lumnis does not grant this ability freely. She will require favors from you." The monk concludes ceremoniously, "You must continue to earn the favor of the Lords of Liabo by dedicating yourself to the Order's purposes. Consider carefully before you call upon their favor, for it must be carefully nurtured. Return when you are ready to take the next step along the Path to Enlightenment. Go now and continue your work."
Step 13:
- ;go2 [The Path to Enlightenment - 25961]
The monk comes up to you and says, "Alastir! You are back! Voln has favored you with his blessing. This is good. We are pleased with your dedication to the Order. Listen carefully as I explain more to you." > The monk sternly says, "Now that you have honored Lady Lumnis, you now must honor Lord Koar, her husband. Koar is pleased with our dedication to Voln and Lorminstra and the struggle to free the undead from their imprisonment." > The monk continues, "The thirteenth step along the Path to Enlightenment requires that you perform a task which honors Koar. In town, there is a location where Koar stands sentinel with three other Arkati. Go there and pay your respects by saying: 'I have come to honor Koar, Master of Mana.' If he is pleased with you, you will know it. Return here when you have completed this task."
- ;go2 [Ta'Vaalor, Shimaerslin Wey - 3539]
- KNEEL and SAY I have come to honor Koar, Master of Mana.
- ;go2 [The Path to Enlightenment - 25961]
The monk pulls you aside and says, "Congratulations, you have now learned half the steps on the Path to Enlightenment. May the second half bring you prosperity and satisfaction." > The monk continues, "Koar is Master of Mana. He, like no other, controls the pools of mana. This is why he leads the other Lords of Liabo. He has graced us with the ability to replenish the mana that lies within us." > The monk continues, "With a struggle as intense as ours can get, the pools within us often diminish faster than they can be replenished normally. This is why Lord Koar has taught us how to tap the mana around us so that we may regain our mana. This will cost you a deed to use. However, Koar will not take the deed if you chose to use this ability sparingly." > The monk formally pronounces, "Now watch carefully and learn the Symbol of Mana." The monk traces an intricate symbol in the air which seems to glow brightly. The image intensifies and burns itself into your memory. The monk continues, "By concentrating on this Symbol, you will be able to instantly recover spent mana. Koar does not grant this ability freely. He will require favors from you, in addition to the deed." The monk concludes ceremoniously, "You must continue to earn the favor of the Lords of Liabo by dedicating yourself to the Order's purposes. Consider carefully before you call upon their favor, for it must be carefully nurtured. Return when you are ready to take the next step along the Path to Enlightenment. Go now and continue your work."
Step 14:
- ;go2 [The Path to Enlightenment - 25960]
The monk comes to you and says, "Alastir! You are back! Koar has favored you with his blessing. This is good. We are pleased with your dedication to the Order. Listen carefully as I explain more to you." > The monk smiles and says, "Now that you have honored Lord Koar, you now must honor Lord Tonis, the messenger of the gods. He has a message which you must deliver. If you are successful and please Tonis, you will know it." > The monk continues, "To complete the fourteenth step along the Path of Enlightenment, you'll not find a happy task. A long time ago, a pair of young lovers found their days together cut short. Now, the spirit of the woman can't rest fully. She still waits for her lover to meet her atop the boulder, their normal meeting spot, along the Sylvarraend Road. Go there and deliver this message. Say, 'You have not been forgotten.' Return here when you have completed this task."
- ;go2 [Sylvarraend Road, Boulder - 1836]
- SAY You have not been forgotten.
- ;go2 [The Path to Enlightenment - 25960]
The monk pulls you aside and says, "Congratulations, you begin the second half of the Path to Enlightenment well. Keep up your good work and remain steadfast in your dedication." > The monk takes a deep breath. "Tonis flies through the lands delivering messages. Though often seen as a carefree youth, he has a serious side that he hides. Part of his duties tear at his heart and he, unlike the other male gods, perhaps, will weep." > The monk continues, "Tonis aids us further in our purpose by granting us the ability not only to recognize all others of our order, but also to see them and where they are for a short period of time. This is most useful when a member is in trouble or has died. You will be able to find out what is happening before you run in and perhaps find yourself facing foes greater than you can handle." > The monk formally pronounces, "Now watch carefully and learn the Symbol of Sight." The monk traces an intricate symbol in the air which seems to glow brightly. The image intensifies and burns itself into your memory. The monk continues, "By concentrating on this Symbol and a fellow member of the Order, you will be able to see for a time what is happening at their location, if they be nearby. This will require favors from you." The monk concludes ceremoniously, "You must continue to earn the favor of the Lords of Liabo by dedicating yourself to the Order's purposes. Consider carefully before you call upon their favor, for it must be carefully nurtured. Return when you are ready to take the next step along the Path to Enlightenment. Go now and continue your work."
