Tooth and Claw, Entry

[Tooth and Claw, Entry - 8084086]
The crooked construction of the hide walls of this shelter makes this space closed and cramped. A wide wooden work table carved with a plethora of wild animals on the legs, its surface covered in bits of paper and tools, takes up one entire wall. Shoved into the opposite corner are a wood-framed chest paneled with various skins and a hide-sided box, their interiors full with wares. A ragged curtain constructed from several squares of fur leads to a sectioned-off area in the back. You also see a tooth-edged bleached bone sign.

In the Common language, it reads:
The items in this shop are precision instruments for extracting teeth of all kinds.
Teeth and fangs extracted from dead creatures can be used in Weaving various adornments.
While you can use these items to investigate tooth ailments of your fellow adventurers, you will have to unlock your toothkey or pelican with the provided slip to give it enough strength to be able to extract a tooth from them once a day.
The provided note will let you unlock better ways to use your toothkey or pelican to diagnose dental issues, though these additions are purely decorative.
Please remember that you will always need CONSENT to go poking around in someone's mouth, unless that someone is a dead creature!
Currently, we can only guarantee that teeth from animal-like creatures will be extractable with these instruments.
The twig on the table can help you prevent your own teeth from needing to be extracted by keeping them clean!

In the hide-sided box you see: a compact faenor pelican, a curved steel pelican with a ruby-set ironwood handle, a rowan-handled mithril pelican tipped with a split claw, a bone-handled iron pelican set with a bloodstained claw, and a twisted silver pelican set with a spiral-carved oak handle.

        -- Tooth Extracter --
  This faenor pelican is an instrument designed to extract teeth from certain dead creatures.
  If unlocked, player teeth can also be extracted once a day (with consent).
  Extracted teeth/fangs can be used in the Weaving system.
    ==Alteration Guidelines==
  * The 15/15/15, long, and show of this faenor pelican can be freely altered as long as they follow all guidelines.
  * The only approved nouns for this pelican are "pelican" or "toothkey".
  * These instruments include a hooked "claw" that slips around the tooth, a "bolster" that rests against the opposite side of the tooth as a fulcrum, and a handle that is usually ring-shaped. The Elanthian versions additionally include a small crank to tighten the claw against the bolster.
  * The claw should be made of metal and can have a custom material and custom descriptor.
  * The handle can be made of anything hard (metal, wood, bone, porcelain, mother-of-pearl, etc.) and can have a custom material and a custom descriptor.
  * Any merchant comfortable with this script can change the custom settings, but these should generally be changed to match the alteration.
    ==Features==
  * Extract Weaveable Creature Teeth/Fangs
    POINT the faenor pelican at an appropriate dead creature, TURN to select the tooth you want, and then PULL to extract the tooth.
    POINT the faenor pelican with no target to clear the selection.
    Each creature extraction gives you a bundle of 2 teeth that can be used in the Weaving system. Each creature can only be extracted from once.
    Different creatures will have different-looking teeth. Possible types of teeth: tooth, canine tooth (or fang), incisor, molar (or carnassial). Not all creatures have all types.
  The adjective of the created tooth will be the creature's name, but you can toggle this appearing by using PUSH on the faenor pelican.
  * Extract Player Teeth [Locked]
    Once a day you can extract a Weaveable tooth from a player using the same method as is used for creatures.
    The player must be alive and must give CONSENT. This action will injure and stun them.
  This will give you only a single tooth.
  * Fluff Actions [Tier 1 of 2]
    Extra fluff actions let you perform examinations on player or creature teeth so you are better able to diagnose any potential dental issues. Rooting around in a player's mouth, even without extracting a tooth, requires CONSENT.
    At this tier, your faenor pelican captures:
      POINT (targeted - select a player/creature to examine), POINT (untargeted - clear any current selection), TURN (switch to a different tooth type of the current target), PUSH (toggle whether adjective appears in created tooth), PULL (extract currently selected tooth).

Tooth and Claw, Backroom

[Tooth and Claw, Backroom - 8084087]
Several cured hides of varying quality have been strewn over the floor of this enclosed section, making the footing precarious in places. Boxes are scattered everywhere, some open to display their contents of teeth and bones, while a guttering oil lamp hangs suspended from the roof to provide scant illumination. The air is stuffy and smells of animals, both alive and dead.
