Dett says, "It lets you handle Rift gems, cursed items, Unholy weapons, forged black ora weapons, myklian scales, and skayl hearts without being mentally influence, cursed burt, or cut.  On the flip side, it adds a severe penalty to attempts to pickpocket with the hand the gauntlet is being worn on."
