Daylight breaks through a single, small round window, landing upon an awkwardly placed splintered oak bureau containing the remnants of a large rat's nest. Several shelves line a shroud-draped wall, most of which are broken and covered with dust. From beyond a garland-framed arch, the sounds of creaking floorboards echo throughout the area with no hint to their source.

Buckle Up, Backroom

Silver hoops of varying sizes, within which stretch multitonal floral doilies, hang from overhead beams by twisted hemp cord. Scattered across warped, and somewhat rotted, floorboards are overstuffed crocheted cushions dyed a dark mulberry red and sewn with intricate beadwork along the edge. Beside a garland-framed arch, an unsteady pillar displays a large fishbowl filled with murky green water.
