Cavalcade of Mounts

Event Information

Date: April 27, 2025

Time: 9:00 p.m. Eastern

Location: Beginning at the western end of the Jousting Fields at Rumor Woods and parading to the Cysaelotar Bonfire.

Description: The Orders of the Silver Gryphon and Azure Sun invite you to join in the second Cavalcade of Mounts on April 27th at 9 P.M. EST! Unfurl your standards, display your crests and coat-of-arms and join our parade starting at the Rumor Woods Jousting Fields to bivouac at the Cysaelotar Bonfire where those who wish may join a competition demonstrating their riding and handling skills alongside their faithful steeds! Judges will declare the top three winners with prizes based on aesthetics of the rider, their mount, and the creativity of their up to three-minute performance.

Schedule

9 P.M. The event will begin with a parade from the Jousting Fields to the Bonfire. Paraders are encouraged to bring their banners, crests, and such to display their coat of arms and celebrate those they represent.

9:10 P.M. At the keep the rules will be quickly gone over as we set the order of entrants for the demonstration competitions.

9:15 P.M. We will begin with the first entry of the demonstration with a 3-minute time limit, continuing through until we have completed the list of entrants' demonstrations.

9:45-9:50 P.M. The panel of judges will render their decision as to the top three demonstrations judging the entrants for their performance creativity, the aesthetic of the entrant and the aesthetic of the entrant's animal in how they complement each other.

9:55 P.M. Prizes are awarded for the top three entrants, and the first place winner gets to lead the cavalcade around the grounds, ending with fireworks and refreshments.

10:15 P.M. Event closing.

Judging Criteria

Entrants will be scored based on the below criteria.

• Aesthetics of mount and rider/handler: how the character and mount are outfitted for the event. Does the outfit match the presentation's theme?
• Creativity: use of varied types of messaging for delivery (ACT, SMILE, etc.) as well as props and RP verbs.
• Content: adherence to an overall theme. Does the performance have a narrative, and is it engaging to watch?
• Time: presentations should be no longer than three minutes

Prizes

The top three entrants (with first place choosing first) will receive prizes to be determined.
