Use the POLICY verb to display the GemStone IV Player Policy in-game. To read it in full on the wiki, see Policy.

The POLICY verb provides additional tools, such as reviewing your warnings, restricted status, and if you're being monitored for vulgarity; reviewing when you last read the GemStone IV Player Policy; and seeing if the current room is considered public (subject to vulgarity monitoring) or private. It also allows players to report others for policy violations to GameMaster staff.

POLICY by itself

Typing POLICY by itself populates the main numbered menu for the GemStone IV Player Policy, listed above.

Read the GemStone IV Player Policy for an individual page number, such as POLICY REVIEW 1 to display the Introduction.

REVIEW

Review your warnings, restricted status, and if you're being monitored for vulgarity. Review when you have last read the GemStone IV Player Policy. This command will also identify if the room where you are currently located is considered public or private; public rooms are subject to vulgarity monitoring.

REPORT

Allows players to report others for policy violations. See POLICY REPORT HELP for further details.

REPORT HELP

Displays the help menu and syntax for using POLICY REPORT.

Usage:
 POLICY REPORT {PLAYER} <TYPE> ;[DETAILS]

  <TYPE>    - BEHAVIOR, SCRIPTING, or ABUSE
  BEHAVIOR  - Swearing, talking about out of game things, abusing smile/act to perform unwanted acts, or other.
  SCRIPTING - Being completely unattentive to the game environment using scripts to gain silvers, experience, spells, healing, locksmithing, or other.
  ABUSE     - Abusing systems to gain an unfair advantage, silver, experience, spells, healing, locksmithing, or other various activities.

  [DETAILS] - Additional information regarding the details of the scenario.

Example Syntax:  POLICY REPORT KINGKOOPA ABUSE ;He stole the princess again!


All players are expected to uphold the policies stated in the POLICY verb.  The reporting player as well as the reported player will both be documented.  All cases will be evaluated and assessed on the back end.  No additional response will be provided directly to the player unless the POLICY REPORT command is used in abuse.  If you are using this system inappropriately you are subject to the same punishment as the policy violation you are reporting.
