The Reserve system, accessed via the RESERVE verb, allows you to set a small item usable in combat aside, ready to use anytime as if it was in your hand.

The aim of the system is to give you more flexibility in combat, and to increase the utility of the various magical consumable items.

Slots

The amount of items you can side aside ('reserve slots') depend on your subscription:

  • F2P accounts do not get any reserve slots.
  • Standard accounts get 1 slot.
  • Premium accounts get 2.
  • Platinum accounts get 3.

Usage

RESERVE {item} will move an eligible item into a reserve slot for use during combat.

Messaging Example
>reserve wand
You reserve your silver wand for use in combat.

RESERVE LIST will output a list of items currently in one's reserve slots.

Messaging Example
>reserve list
You have the following items reserved for combat:

    a silver wand

WAVE MY WAND AT ROLTON will work as if the wand was in your hand.

Notes

  • You can invoke scrolls that are held in reserve without penalty (the 100 penalty applied when trying to invoke whilst holding another item is not applied when invoking from reserve).
  • Generally it is better to put a wand in reserve and wave it from there versus holding it in your hand; for the vast majority of characters, an open hand will provide more defense than a hand holding a wand.
  • Some examples of things you can put in reserve: herbs, wands, scrolls, heavy quartz orbs, blue crystals, solid moonstone cubes, and more.
  • Any item that must be worn to be effective, such as ruby amulets, do not work from reserve.
