Section II: Officers and Commands

Officer Rules and Regulations

Officers can only hold a leadership role in one MHO at a time. However they may be members of an unlimited amount of MHOs. All officers must abide by the MHO Officer Code of Conduct section below.

In-Game Commands for Officers

The HALL command is accessible anywhere in game by MHO officers:

  • Type alone for usage
  • The Guide has additional guidance on HALL EVENT (Criers) and HALL NEWS

Outside each Meeting Hall in every town, there is an NPC who will handle requests for member inductions, checking roster, etc

  1. TELL "NPC" TO INDUCT <player>: Inducts a member into your organization.
  2. EXPEL <player>: Removes a member from your organization. You must be in the same room as the MHO NPC.
  3. ASK "NPC" ABOUT ROSTER: Displays current in-game roster of your group.

Inside each Meeting Hall in every town, there is an NPC clerk who will handle requests for officer investments, checking group status and endowments and making monetary deposits.

  1. TELL CLERK TO INVEST <player>: Invests a member with Officer status.
  2. ASK CLERK ABOUT STATUS: Will display your group's general status for the year, including current member count, endowment and when it was founded.
  3. ENDOW <amount>: You will deposit money into your group's endowment. This is non-refundable.

MHO Officer Code of Conduct

  • Your position as an MHO Officer is a privilege, not a right.
  • As MHO Officers, you are held to a higher standard than an average player. You are viewed by players and staff members as leaders within the community. We expect you to live up to that high standard.
  • Every word and every action of an MHO Officer represents his/her Organization, whether engaged in Organization business or not. Unless the Officer is in a private room behind a latched door, ANYONE could be watching or listening. Please always represent your Organization in the best possible light.
  • OOG (out of genre) behavior by an Officer is unacceptable and should be avoided at all times, particularly during events.
  • OOC (out of character) communications with other PCs (player characters) are, as always, acceptable and sometimes necessary ONLY through use of WHISPER OOC [character/group], within a private location secured by a latched door, or during some Officer-only MHO meetings as necessary.
  • Any donations that are received during any event or during the course of general activities shall be passed to the officers for deposit into the endowment. Should the officers not be present, it is the duty of the MHO members present to either hold the donations until they can be presented to an officer or make the deposit themselves at the MHO Clerk's office.
  • Officers are expected to read and be familiar with their Organization's governing documentation and by-laws.
  • Officers are required to follow game POLICY in all aspects and are expected to be examples to their members and the community at all times in regard to these policies. This is especially prevalent in regard to Player vs. Player Conflict, Abusive/Disruptive Behavior, and account privacy.
  • An MHO Officer should never share his/her play.net account information with another person. This is especially important because Officers have exclusive access to the HALL commands. As such, each Officer is solely responsible for any misuse of the HALL commands.
  • Officers are not to engage in behaviors that in any way flirt with POLICY or that can bring bad light to the MHO as a whole. These can include but are not limited to the following: Verbally abusing staff or other players, lying to staff in any attempt to "get your way," getting involved in PvP, getting involved in warn interaction/harassment situations, sharing your account information, or gross and disturbing OOC behavior.
  • The purpose of the Meeting Hall Organizations is to create a sense of community in their respective towns and to foster healthy roleplay through events and daily interactions.

Any Officer found in violation of this code of conduct will be subject to penalties and consequences to be determined on a case-by-case basis by the MHO GM. These consequences may include immediate removal from one's position as an MHO Officer and/or an official warning. Extreme cases may result in the immediate closure of the organization or complete removal of current officers.
