Onnah is a wizard who desires to become one of Elanthian's most respected fashion designers.

After being forced from the home of her grandmother, Onnah looked to the west for opportunity and a chance to make her mark. She has proven herself incredibly hard-working, applying herself to the mastery of tailoring and cobbling, spending hours performing tasks to pay for her apprenticeships. Her resourcefulness is often evident in many of her designs opting to repurpose objects or overlooked materials into her pieces.

Despite wanting to be a well-known designer, Onnah is quite the homebody with little interest in society functions or living a life a luxury. She is often accompanied by an overfed stoat who proved too intelligent to make into an accessory, though he bares the name "Muffler."

Appearance

You see Onnah Somsprey the Modiste.
She appears to be an Elf.
She is tall. She appears to be very young. She has ultramarine-framed smoky grey eyes and unlined eburnean skin. She has shoulder length, silky vivid blonde hair parted to the side and pinned back with a calligraphy-inked vellum fascinator encircled by a quill of nacreous blue waterweb. She has an angular face and thin pointed ears. Her extremely long eyelashes fan out around her eyes in ovals of dark blonde.
She is in good shape.
She is wearing some tri-strand earrings threaded with gilt porcelain shards, a pleated matte silk waistcoat over a narrow cobalt jacquard dress that flares into a fanning skirt of six ruffled tiers over some vivid watercolor silk petticoats, and a pair of white suede half-boots raised by lacquered cigar box wedges.

Intro Story

“Uncle,” Onnah’s voice was quiet and she struggled with unease about how to continue, “has...has she passed?”

The portly elf in front of her continued to sob for a moment before managing a nod. Onnah looked about the sitting room at a loss. Her uncle had never shown any kind of emotion or passion about anything except a good feast or a new piece of jewelry. She creased her brow and reached forward to place a hand on his shoulder.

Doing her best to sound comforting, “I see that her loss has struck you very deeply, Uncle. I am sure she kn--”

“You daft girl!” He sharply cut her off, “your sour Grandmother got her last laugh. She left us with nothing. She’s been living in debt these past decades. The creditors will take it all!” The sobs came again and he struggled to speak, “we’re ruined, we have nothing. The house, the furniture, the jewels, the ships,” he paused to shake pitifully, “gone. All gone.”

Onnah fought against the smirk she felt pulling against her lips. Just then, a harsh *clacking* rhythm came from outside the door. Onnah adopted a neutral expression as her aunt entered the room and took note that she had already seized the opportunity to change into mourning clothes. “Ever the actress,” she mused in her head.

The black-clad elf took in a dramatic sigh and avoided looking at her mewling husband. “They will be here within the week to collect what is owed. You are allowed to pack one trunk of personal belongings.”

“Where will we go?” a hint of worry was evident in Onnah’s question.

“We?” Her aunt shook her head and moved closer, “there is no we, Onnah. There are no longer the means to keep you.” Despite being shorter than Onnah, she lifted her niece’s chin with her manicured nails, “my advice is to find a rich, old widow desperate in need of companionship and latch on. You are vaguely pretty and your manners are suitable enough that the senile would not mind you. Or if you can, find a merchant husband to take care of you. Surely no good family will have you now.” She lowered her hand and gestured while she continued, “no prospects, no fortune and this family name now carries nothing but debt.”

Onnah protested, “My Grandfather was one of the greatest generals that ev--”

Her aunt shushed her with a grin and a knowing shake of the head. “And who cares about such things in this modern era? Besides, most all that good will was spent when your parents, well, it is best to leave all this behind you. Better to be a simple nobody than a disgraced somebody.”

Relenting, Onnah turned to look out the window but the coastline seemed of less interest to her than the miraculous weave of the curtains and how elegantly they had been draped.
