An interview with Lady Wanton Destruction:

[Mustafo's Tower] Walls of varnished honey oak and an oak-inlaid modwir floor covered by a gold-shot royal blue carpet enclose this room. In one corner lies an overstuffed goosefeather bed, and near the bed sits a polished beechwood table. Above an oak-mantled sandstone fireplace hangs a Four Winds plaque. The room holds a mild scent of oiled leather. You also see an elegant bay window and a wooden door. Also here: Legend Shoshonna who is sitting on the floor, Lady Wanton who is sitting on the table. Obvious exits: none.

You see Lady Wanton Destruction the Giantman Warrior. She appears to be in her 70's, has very long black hair, green eyes, and fair skin. She is in good shape.

Mustafo says, "Good evening. Thanks for taking time out to answer some questions for my readers. Im sure they will appreciate your time."

Wanton smiles.

Mustafo asks, "So tell me and everyone, what do you like most about Elanthia?"

Wanton says, "Well.. in one word. The people."

Mustafo nods.

Wanton says, "When I first arrived here, it was the people that made me want to stay."

Mustafo asks, "and you still find that to be true?"

Wanton smiles in fond remembrance.

Wanton nods to you.

Wanton says, "Oh yes. If I didn't have the friends I do, I would have left long ago."

Mustafo asks, "can you compare the group of people that you grew up with as the general population now?"

Wanton rubs her chin thoughtfully.

Wanton says, "Well.. each person is an individual of course..."

Mustafo nods.

Wanton says, "but I find that as time goes on, you see similar traits in folks."

Mustafo nods.

Mustafo asks, "do the people now have, for lack of a better word, the same goals as they did when you started?"

Wanton says, "There's always some folks that have the goal of being powerful.. some that have the goal of making lots of friends... some that have the goal of helping others."

Wanton says, "Yeah. They do have the same goals, I'd says."

Mustafo nods.

Wanton says, "But I can't says that I know each person in Elanthia personally. I don't know their most intimate thoughts."

Mustafo asks, "do you find more now being hell bent on being powerful than a few years ago?"

Wanton grins.

Wanton says, "More people yes. But it's probably the same percentage of the population as it was before."

Mustafo nods.

Mustafo asks, "And what would be the thing you like the least?"

Wanton says, "That's a tough one."

Mustafo says, "gota asks the hard ones ya know. my readers demand it"

(Wanton sips her stout as she contemplates her answer.)

Mustafo grins.

Wanton takes a drink from her dwarven stout.

Wanton says, "I'd have to says the general feeling of displeasure that so many people have."

Mustafo nods.

Wanton says, "Some folks are just ready to go off at the least thing."

Mustafo asks, "why do you think that feeling exists?"

Wanton says, "When if they'd just put themselves in the other person's shoes, they'd realize people are mortal and they'd be able to forgive 'em."

Mustafo nods.

Wanton says, "Hmmm..."

Mustafo asks, "do you sense a higher level of oh...frustraion now than years before?"

Wanton says, "They're probably being defensive for the most part."

Wanton says, "Again, I'd have to says it's probably the same percentage of the population as there was years ago."

Mustafo nods.

Wanton says, "But with more population, it's more people that are frustrated."

Wanton says, "And they tend to be the loudest folks too."

Wanton smiles.

Wanton says, "The vocal minority."

Mustafo asks, "are the problems people face now, in your opinion, considered in relativity the same as years ago?"

Wanton says, "Many of the problems are the same."

Mustafo nods.

Wanton says, "But back then, there was one problem that didn't exist really. Too many people on a relatively small plot of land."

Wanton says, "Of course, if everybody spread out everywhere that they could go, they wouldn't feel that crowding either."

Mustafo asks, "if you could, can you describe what might have been considered a large problem years ago versus today?"

Mustafo says, "true"

Wanton says, "Hmm.. lemme think on that one."

Mustafo says, "as an example, in my thoughts, years ago it was lack of hunting areas. today its idiots"

Wanton says, "Well, I was never so old that I didn't have a place to hunt. That was a rather small percentage of the population then. As it is now."

Mustafo nods.

Wanton says, "But I'd says one of the problems was societal difficulties."

Mustafo nods.

Wanton says, "That's still something that occurs today."

Wanton says, "Then each profession has their own internal problems."

Mustafo says, "i agree"

Mustafo asks, "How many summers have you seen in the lands?"

Wanton grins.

Wanton says, "That's one of the harder questions that I knew you'd asks... it's difficult to remember.. but lemme give it a guess."

Mustafo grins.

Wanton says, "I think.. 5."

Wanton says, "My half-sister arrived in town shortly after the big earthquake."

Wanton asks, "You know, the one that made the breach in the west wall?"

Mustafo says, "so thats what did that"

Wanton says, "I came to the Landing about 6 months after that."

Wanton nods to you.

Mustafo nods.

Wanton says, "Yup. None of my family was here for the earthquake, but she told me how people were talking about it just happening and all."

Mustafo nods.

Mustafo says, "describe if you can your first day in the lands"

Mustafo says, "what it felt like and what you felt like"

Wanton grins.

Wanton says, "Well, I'll describe my half-sister's first day. What she told me about it."

Mustafo says, "sure"

Wanton chuckles.

Wanton says, "When she arrived, she was greener than moss on a forest floor."

Mustafo grins.

Wanton says, "Gods, it was pathetic."

Mustafo says, "been there"

Wanton says, "She was able to speak and move about with some helpful advice."

Wanton grins.

Wanton says, "She was in the armory, having just purchased some items when Kyreth came upon her."

Wanton chuckles.

Wanton says, "She'd actually managed to arrive during a newbie night welcoming..."

Mustafo says, "was about to asks if you remembered the first person you met"

Wanton says, "Well, Kyreth comes into the armory and welcomes her to the Landing and asks her if she wants some help. Then he waits patiently for an answer."

Wanton says, "In the meantime, Tyrnna's trying to figure out how to put on her armor. She got some heavy hide and some greaves and she was holding both, but needed both hands to wear the armor..."

Mustafo nods.

Wanton chuckles.

Wanton says, "She told me he must've stood there for a couple minutes before she let him know what the trouble was."

Mustafo grins.

Mustafo chuckles.

Wanton says, "But he was really patient and she finally got all her greaves and stuff on and was able to join him."

Wanton says, "She got really lucky too.."

Wanton says, "There were some merchants in Town Square.. they were there specially to cater to youngsters."

Wanton grins.

Wanton says, "Well..."

Mustafo says, "dont see that much anymore"

Wanton says, "Kyreth gave her some funds.. quite a few funds and she bought some things she thought sounded like good things to buy.."

Wanton nods to you.

Mustafo nods.

Wanton says, "and someone else whispered to her that she should not forget his help. That she should pay him back someday..."

Wanton says, "Well, she said she certainly would.. and she meant the silvers..."

Mustafo says, "good advice"

Wanton says, "But this person said, No, not the silvers. She would have to help someone new someday also."

Wanton says, "And that would be how to pay Kyreth back."

Wanton says, "She never forgot that. And she told the same thing to me."

Mustafo says, "wonder who was the last newbie to ever hear that advice"

Wanton grins.

Wanton says, "I dunno, but I says the same things when people offer to pay me back for help I give 'em."

Mustafo says, "thats a good story though"

Wanton says, "A bit longwinded."

Wanton winks at you.

Wanton says, "but you said that I could ramble."

Mustafo says, "aye, the best kind of stories"

Mustafo says, "aye. the more the beter"

Mustafo asks, "What, if any, have been the best changes you have seen in the lands? Wether they affect you or not?"

Wanton says, "Well, there's been a lot of wonderful things that happen."

Mustafo nods.

Wanton says, "One of the good things was the refugees that came when Hochstib started invading the baronies that neighbor Jantalar."

Mustafo coughs.

Mustafo says, "before my time"

Wanton says, "Now, most folks won't agree. And I certainly don't like the fact that he's invading other places."

Mustafo gazes heavenward.

Wanton grins.

Wanton says, "Well... I'm referring to the fact that we have so many more residents now."

Mustafo nods.

Wanton says, "More people to know and friends to make is what I says."

Mustafo nods.

Mustafo asks, "lets get oh...land wide change if that made sense. what would you think would be your idea of the best change?"

Wanton says, "Of course, along the way we've forged trails to new places like Rivers Rest, Icemule, Teras."

Mustafo nods.

Wanton says, "Ahhh.. that sorta change..."

Wanton rubs her chin thoughtfully.

Wanton grins.

Mustafo says, "now course the new areas were a definatte good change"

Wanton says, "Well.. I am a warrior...."

Mustafo nods.

Wanton says, "so I'd be saying things like the guild.. and the way heavier armor is so nice now.. and how training physically toughens you up and makes you harder to kill would be some of the best changes."

Wanton grins.

Wanton says, "Along with the new hunting grounds."

Mustafo says, "cant argue there"

Mustafo grins.

Mustafo asks, "What would be the worst change you have seen, again wether or not it affected you?"

Wanton grins.

Mustafo says, "some reason, i love this question"

Wanton says, "I suppose you'd not like it if I said the refugees that came flooding into our town."

Mustafo says, "i dont mind that at all"

Wanton smiles wryly.

Mustafo says, "but lets go again like a land wide change"

Wanton says, "Well, if it can't be my answer for a good thing, then I can't use it as an answer for a bad thing.. though it's both, good and bad."

Wanton grins.

Wanton nods to you.

Wanton says, "Hmmm.."

Mustafo says, "im prying for one certain answer"

Mustafo grins.

Wanton says, "This is the one that I knew you'd asks that I've been having trouble figuring an answer for."

Wanton says, "I actually have no complaints."

Mustafo stare at nothing in particular.

Mustafo says, "no really. you can says it"

Wanton says, "But then, I dont' follow changes to other professions nearly as much as I do to the warriors."

Wanton says, "Probably that the spell-casting professions can learn two spells or more every training."

Mustafo says, "as apposed to when it was one per train"

Wanton says, "It doesn't give them much to look forward to when they get older."

Wanton nods to you.

Mustafo nods.

Mustafo says, "remember Aanalar hated that as well"

Wanton says, "But the rest of us benefit from their greater knowledge."

Mustafo asks, "what was your first reactions to the death changes?"

Wanton wipes the sweat from her brow.

Wanton exclaims, "Whew!"

Wanton grins.

Mustafo flail your arms about.

Wanton says, "That was my first thought."

Wanton says, "But then..."

Mustafo asks, "so you liked it when that changed?"

Wanton looks over at you and shakes her head.

Wanton says, "It was my first, selfish reaction."

Mustafo nods.

Wanton says, "But truthfully, we were better off with the old ways in that one area."

Wanton rubs her chin thoughtfully.

Wanton says, "But I'll never lose the sword that once belonged to Meta."

Mustafo says, "i think those that do hate the old ways are thinking more selfishly than for the betterment of realism"

Mustafo asks, "you got one of Meta's blades?"

Your jaw drops.

Wanton grins.

Mustafo exclaim, "sell it to me!"

Wanton rolls around on the ground laughing hysterically!

Mustafo stare at nothing in particular.

Wanton laughs!

Wanton coughs.

Wanton starts chuckling at you!

Mustafo says, "need to think about it? ok thats fine"

Wanton says, "That will never be for sale."

Wanton stands up.

Mustafo says, "i cant get a break"

Mustafo shake your head.

Wanton sits down on the table.

Wanton removes a razor sharp heavy fired claidhmore from inside her back sheath.

Wanton smiles.

Mustafo asks, "thats the beast?"

Wanton says, "One of the finest blades in Elanthia."

Wanton nods to you.

Mustafo says, "i bet it is"

Wanton shows you a razor sharp heavy fired claidhmore, which she is holding in her right hand. Mustafo see nothing unusual.

Mustafo says, "bet it weighs more than me"

Wanton says, "You don't train in twohanders anyway."

Wanton chuckles.

Wanton carefully examines her heavy fired claidhmore.

Wanton says, "Only about 21 pounds."

Mustafo exclaims, "well i would start training in it!"

Mustafo asks, "thats it?"

Wanton grins.

Wanton put a razor sharp heavy fired claidhmore inside her back sheath.

Wanton says, "That's my prized possession."

Mustafo says, "would be mine too i think"

Wanton says, "It cost me a little over a million silvers."

Mustafo nods.

Mustafo says, "small price to pay for an item of his"

Wanton chuckles.

Mustafo asks, "What, if any, is your single most good memorable event that has happened to you in Elanthia?"

Wanton says, "Well, it was years ago when a million silvers was a lot of money."

Mustafo nods.

Wanton says, "That's a tough one too.. there are lots of wonderful, memorable things.. I'll try to come up with the best."

Mustafo grins.

Wanton says, "When Berr said that he and Metaboculous thought I was a true warrior."

Wanton says, "That's meant the most to me."

Mustafo says, "aye...i can see that "

Mustafo says, "would be a heck of a compliment coming from Berr and Meta"

Wanton nods to you.

Wanton chuckles.

Mustafo says, "seesh, thats a chart topper"

Wanton says, "It was difficult for me to be taken seriously as a warrior."

Wanton says, "Especially since I like to have fun in between killing."

Mustafo asks, "were there many female warriors when you started?"

Wanton says, "There was Cinabar."

Mustafo nods.

Wanton says, "She was actually the first female warrior to get a her title."

Wanton says, "I was second."

Wanton says, "So no, there weren't many back then."

Mustafo says, "aye, never knew that before"

Wanton says, "at least, not many that got very old."

Wanton nods to you.

Mustafo nods.

Mustafo says, "seesh, thats up there"

Mustafo says, "still never got Meta to stop calling me rookie"

Mustafo gazes heavenward.

Wanton nods to you.

Mustafo asks, "What would be your worst memorable momment?"

Wanton sighs.

Wanton says, "When friends leave. We recently lost someone very special to the lands too."

Mustafo asks, "Ellizza?"

Wanton says, "Kygar."

Mustafo says, "oh, never met Kygar that i can recall"

Wanton nods to you.

Mustafo says, "is always bad when close friends leave"

Wanton says, "Lots of folks haven't. He's one of the really old God Minors."

Mustafo says, "ahhh"

Wanton says, "He didn't leave. He's gone."

Mustafo says, "oh that gone"

Mustafo says, "thats even worse. ill move along to a brighter question"

Wanton smiles softly.

Mustafo asks, "Who did you look up to when you were young and why?"

Wanton chuckles.

Wanton says, "Hexxon, Metaboculous and Waldo."

Wanton says, "The three oldest warriors at the time that I arrived in town."

Mustafo says, "Hexxon was a warrior? i remember him picking in the tower when i started, never realized he might not have been a rogue"

Wanton says, "Of course, there were other folks, but I wanted to be a good warrior, so I looked towards them for guidance."

Wanton nods to you.

Wanton says, "Yes, he is a warrior."

Mustafo says, "i gota look at people more often"

Wanton grins.

Mustafo says, "did you get to go out hunting with any of them very often? "

Wanton says, "I've gone hunting with each of them at least once."

Mustafo asks, "were you able to hold your own with em?"

Mustafo grins.

Wanton says, "In fact, one of my biggest thrills was when I was hunting with Meta in warfs. He was hunting for cash and let me tag along."

Wanton says, "Warfs were a challenge for me then and he could kill them with a look."

Mustafo chuckles.

Wanton grins.

Wanton says, "He let me use the claidhmore that he later sold to me."

Wanton smiles.

Wanton says, "Gods that was a wonderful day."

Mustafo says, "ive seen that look when he told me i could not pick on the porch when he was there. it could kill"

Mustafo asks, "What where your main goals, if any, when you first started out?"

Wanton says, "To survive."

Wanton grins.

Mustafo grins.

Wanton says, "To have fun too."

Wanton says, "Make friends..."

Mustafo nods.

Wanton says, "Be strong.. be brave...."

Wanton says, "Be a warrior."

Wanton nods.

Mustafo says, "from the way some people talk about you when you are around, seems you have made several friends"

Wanton says, "Yes, there are wonderful people here. Folks I'm honored to call friend."

Mustafo says, "i would asks about a specific nickname ive heard you have but for the life of me i cant think of it"

Wanton chuckles.

Wanton says, "I have no idea what that would be."

Mustafo slap yourself on the forehead! Doh!

Mustafo says, "maybe it will come to me"

Mustafo asks, "Do you have any goals left that you have not reached yet?"

Wanton says, "Always."

Wanton says, "My goals change as I grow older."

Mustafo nods.

Wanton says, "Right now my biggest goal is to have folks know they can come to me and that I'll always try to make time for them. Young and old."

Wanton smiles.

Mustafo nods.

Mustafo says, "very admirable"

Wanton says, "I'm with the Order of Lorekeepers and I'm wanting to help out as many people as I can."

Mustafo nods.

Mustafo asks, "do you have any professional goals left to acheive?"

Wanton says, "Well, there's not much point in growing learning if you don't share what you learn."

Mustafo says, "true"

Wanton nods to you.

Wanton says, "Sure. I'm with the Order of the Silver Gryphon and I'm always going to have to work on achieving the chivalric ideal."

Mustafo nods.

Mustafo grins.

Wanton smiles.

Wanton says, "What I want to attain is perfection."

Wanton says, "and of course, perfection is unattainable."

Mustafo asks, "as far as in what?"

Wanton says, "So I'll never make it, but I'll always keep trying."

Wanton says, "In following the code of chivalry."

Mustafo nods.

Mustafo asks, "What one person, if there is one, that you will jump at the chance to be with any time they are in the lands?"

Wanton says, "Dreamweaver is the name that pops into my mind immediately."

Mustafo says, "understandable"

Wanton says, "She has so many stories to tell about people that I never met."

Wanton says, "I'd love to introduce some of my newer friends to her."

Wanton says, "People that have never met her."

Wanton says, "So they can hear her sing the Ballad of Kelfour's Landing."

Mustafo says, "some says she still comes around each thursday and tells a few stories but i havent seen her yet though would love to"

Wanton says, "I'll have to keep an eye out for her."

Shoshonna whispers, "I have, old man"

Wanton says, "But I'd jump at the chance to meet with any of my old friends too."

Mustafo nods.

Wanton says, "Whilder, Mojo, Tolomei..."

Wanton chuckles.

Wanton says, "The list is too long."

Mustafo says, "alot of them are your friends, all of them i would just like to meet one day"

Wanton smiles.

Wanton says, "Next time I see one of them I'll introduce you if you're around."

Mustafo exclaims, "super!"

Mustafo asks, "When you are not out hunting, or working in your chosen profession, what do you to to relax while in the lands?"

Wanton says, "Talk to my friends. Now that I'm with the Lorekeepers, I'll do a little mentoring when I've got spare time."

Mustafo asks, "how much time do you spend mentoring?"

Wanton says, "It depends."

Wanton says, "Most of the time when you notice I'm in the lands, I'm at one meeting or another."

Wanton grins.

Wanton says, "Like this."

Mustafo grins.

Mustafo nods.

Wanton says, "Quite often I'll come early for a meeting.. or stay late after a meeting and I'll just start some mentoring."

Wanton chuckles.

Mustafo asks, "so you just look for a confused soul and see what you can do to help them?"

Wanton says, "Well, I'll do some welcoming. We can recognize some of the newer folks in town."

Wanton says, "Or I'll announce that I'm answering questions."

Mustafo nods.

Wanton says, "but I'll also try to catch up to friends too. It depends on who's around."

Wanton chuckles.

Mustafo nods.

Wanton says, "and depends on if I can find them."

Mustafo grins.

Mustafo says, "i can never find anyone so i make them find me"

Wanton laughs!

Mustafo says, "not like i ever go anywhere"

Wanton nods to you.

Wanton grins.

Mustafo asks, "If you could change one thing about you, what would it be?"

Wanton says, "Yeah, when I can't get a hold of them on the amunet, I stop by Hearthstone and see who's hanging around."

Wanton says, "I'd try to think more before I speak."

Mustafo asks, "you are a bit spastic?"

Wanton says, "I often says something and find myself chewing on boot leather."

Wanton starts chuckling at you!

Wanton says, "I wouldn't put it quite that way."

Mustafo chuckles.

Wanton says, "Just perhaps that not everyone has my sense of humor."

Mustafo says, "ahh, well thats what makes us all fun"

Wanton grins.

Wanton says, "That and I really have a problem with being late for things."

Wanton says, "But you already knew that."

Mustafo asks, "and why is that?"

Mustafo whistle tunelessly to yourself, remembering days past.

Wanton winks at you.

Mustafo grins.

Mustafo says, "a fiters work is never done i spose"

Wanton grins.

Mustafo asks, "What do you see in the future for you in Elanthia?"

Wanton says, "More of the same... making friends, helping folks out, growing within the Gryphons."

Mustafo asks, "even though you are legendary, do you ever wish you were older than you are now?"

Wanton chuckles.

Wanton says, "When we're being invaded, I sometimes wish I had more skill with my weapons."

Wanton says, "but mostly, no."

Wanton shrugs.

Mustafo asks, "are you one for charging ahead in invasions?"

Wanton says, "Nope, that's not me."

Mustafo says, "me neither. im a weenie"

Wanton says, "The confusion of invasions is often ..."

Wanton says, "Difficult, for me."

Mustafo nods.

Wanton says, "I find that by the time I've swung my sword, the beast is dead."

Wanton says, "Or I am."

Mustafo says, "well now that cloud spells have been changed invasions might take a different turn now"

Wanton says, "Though I'm pretty good at dragging dead people away to clerics."

Mustafo grins.

Wanton says, "I'm always about five steps behind everyone."

Mustafo asks, "What do you see in the future for Elanthia as a land?"

Wanton says, "Not out of choice, but out of confusion."

Mustafo grins.

Wanton grins.

Mustafo says, "i never leave the porch, much safer"

Wanton says, "We'll be discovering more trails and hunting grounds, I'm sure."

Mustafo nods.

Wanton says, "I'm looking forward to the completion of the caravansary so that we can travel to Solhaven."

Mustafo says, "aye me too. ive always heard it will be more catered to the arms user"

Mustafo says, "least im hoping so anyway"

Wanton says, "I think now with the Lorekeepers around, we'll be able to welcome and guide the newcomers and there'll be a renewed hope in our community."

Wanton grins.

Wanton says, "I love exploring new towns."

Mustafo says, "i hope so too. i preach about it constantly"

Wanton nods to you.

Mustafo asks, "Are there any changes in your profession you would really like to see?"

Wanton smiles.

Wanton says, "I'm rather satisfied with my profession, but..."

Wanton grins.

Wanton says, "it'd be fun if we learned new manuevers."

Mustafo nods.

Mustafo says, "that would be fun to learn. im hoping to learn something in that area when our guild opens"

Wanton says, "And if we start breaking our weapons and armor.. then it'd be nice if we could learn how to fix 'em."

Wanton grins.

Wanton nods to you.

Wanton says, "You'll have to tell me about your guild when it opens."

Mustafo says, "oh everyone in the lands will know because Bleys will finally smile"

Wanton laughs!

Mustafo cackles!

Wanton says, "I meant details about the skills and the building and such."

Wanton grins.

Mustafo chuckles.

Wanton says, "but yes, I'll certainly know then."

Wanton rubs her chin thoughtfully.

Mustafo says, "yeah thats gona be a fun time when it opens"

Wanton says, "I wonder if that will truly be the day that pigs fly."

Mustafo says, "we are reported to be the last guild to get actual combat related skills"

Mustafo says, "prolly when Ice Mule melts"

Wanton grins.

Wanton says, "Or the Sea of Fire freezes over."

Mustafo chuckles.

Wanton says, "That's not to says I don't believe it will happen."

Mustafo nods.

Wanton says, "I am certain you will get your guild."

Mustafo grins.

Wanton says, "It just may take some time."

Wanton says, "After all, we got our guild."

Wanton grins.

Mustafo says, "aye, i know what ya meant. we will get it and yes it will take some time"

Mustafo says, "but we, or some of us, still have faith"

Wanton says, "I just meant that when Bleys smiles, it'll be very strange."

Mustafo says, "oh you telling me"

Mustafo asks, "What advice, if any, do you have for those just starting out in Elanthia?"

Mustafo nods.

Wanton grins.

Wanton says, "Make friends. Listen and learn. Don't be afraid to asks questions."

Wanton exclaims, "And above all, have fun!"

Wanton grins.

Mustafo says, "wished more would like to sit and listen and asks more questions. really can learn a lot"

Wanton says, "I meet at least one each day that I go around town."

Wanton smiles at you.

Mustafo says, "i might too if i ever left that blasted porch"

Wanton says, "Maybe it's cause I don't leave until I find one."
