Uploaded Image Patrols

Ongoing record of images needing copyright/attribution information added.

  • User talk:TGO01: Hello, TGO01. You recently uploaded several images to the wiki that are missing information required by Gswiki:Policy. Those images are File:Dreaven.jpg, File:Bochser 1.jpg, and File:Xess.jpg. Please see Gswiki:Policy#Copyrights for more information about the image policy and its requirement to note image creators, what AI imaging software was used (if any), and if permission was granted by the creator to upload the image to the wiki. This information needs to be on the images as well as on all articles using them. In addition, all images using AI software in their creation are required to be included in Category:AI artwork. To add that text to the image file, you will need to click on "Edit Source" on the image file itself and add all of the required information, plus [[Category:AI artwork]] to include it in the appropriate category for AI artwork.
If that information is not added within 7 days, these images will be deleted from the wiki. Please do not remove the {{moddelete}} template from the images. Another moderator or I will remove that template after your updates have been reviewed to ensure that they meet Gswiki:Policy requirements. If you have any questions about this process or need more information about the updated policy for images, please reach out to the wiki team on the Gemstone Discord forum's wiki thread. Thank you for understanding. HOST-GSKEBECHET (talk) 10:20, 16 May 2024 (CDT)
Hello again, TGO01. Thank you for updating the information for File:Xess.jpg. I have deleted File:Bochser 1.jpg per your request. File:Dreaven.jpg is still missing some information required by Gswiki:Policy#Copyrights. As your updated caption indicates that it was created by another person and that you have permission from the copyright holder to upload it, it is considered Commissioned Artwork. Commissioned Artwork requires that the name (or handle) of the artist be included when they retain the copyright of the image, and this will need to be added to both the image file and the article displaying it. I have updated the banner to state that you have 7 days from today's date, as opposed to the date of my last message to you, to add that information or it will be deleted from the wiki. • User talk:321FLAPTIME: Hello, 321FLAPTIME. You recently uploaded an image to the wiki, File:En-zul logoth-storm peaks-1703220375.png, that appears to violage the Gswiki:Policy for Copyrights, specifically for Maps. Maps should only be uploaded by the original creator or, in certain circumstances, the editor who updated the map to account for new areas. There does not appear to be any statement on the map image to indicate that you have edited it or when. This is required for all map images that have been modified by someone other than the original map creator. I have flagged the map image for moderator review and deletion.
If this file is the original, unedited map image, it will need to be uploaded by the original map creator. If you have made edits to the map, then you will need to indicate this per the copyright section on maps and reupload it with that text included both on the image itself as well as in the image file comments. If an image file update is not added within 7 days, this image will be deleted from the wiki. Please do not remove the {{moddelete}} template from the image. Another moderator or I will remove that template after your updates have been reviewed to ensure that they meet Gswiki:Policy requirements. If you have any questions about this process or need more information about the updated policy for maps, please reach out to the wiki team on the Gemstone Discord forum's wiki thread. Thank you for understanding. HOST-GSKEBECHET (talk) 08:28, 28 May 2024 (CDT)
