Darphin (prime)/Sea to Sea: Darphin's Search for Mayor Dabbing pt2
Title: Sea to Sea: Darphin's search for Talliver
Author: Darphin Ta'Mori
The ocean spray stings the cheeks of the travel-weary Lord, yet his return to The Mule was never intended to signify rest. Lord Ta'Mori is still attempting to remove the ash from the recent vist to the volcanic island from his hair and to eliminate the lingering odor from his nostrils. He thoroughly searched the village, as well as its surrounding temple and environments, in pursuit of any signs of the missing Mayor; however, he found none. The locals were not particularly helpful, as his inquiries often elicited little more than blank stares. He had hoped to find a clue on Teras; although he harbored doubts, the hope remained.
A sign on the isle would indicate that he would not need to direct his gaze towards the Harpy's ancient keep. He would be spared from posing difficult inquiries regarding the newly liberated island's leader. Why has Jkarog not made contact with the town? It would be unwise to assume a close relationship between him and the mayor; however, Jkarog, being a seasoned trader, understands that a degree of concern ought to be communicated. This evening, although it may seem like an exercise in futility, he navigates the harbor, patrolling and searching for indications of the missing mayor in closer proximity to home.
A number of ships have now crossed his path, and the small crew that has agreed to escort him this evening has dispatched the pirates swiftly and efficiently. He searches each vessel for signs of the mayor before sinking them and sending them to the depths. Although he has not found any indication of the mayor's presence, he does not suspect he will. He is confident that the mayor is still alive; however, the town will not "trade" for him, as his death would be demoralizing. Rammael is aware of this and will not hesitate to gloat about his victory, further exacerbating the distress of Icemule Trace.
The absence of communication from the Dusk Coven is a source of concern for Lord Ta'Mori. He is aware that they are in pursuit of other relics throughout the region; however, he questions whether they have abandoned their interest in the orb. Is this Rammael's final endeavor, an opportunity to conclude matters with The Mule before progressing to more significant issues? This scenario appears plausible, if not probable. It resembles a cat playing with its prey prior to delivering the fatal strike. The sound of drums in the distance interrupts his contemplation. Lord Ta'Mori shifts his attention to the Admiral positioned at the helm, whose gruesome smile widens as she adeptly maneuvers the ship towards the pirates' man-of-war. Lord Ta'Mori is acutely aware that bloodshed is imminent, extending beyond the casualties incurred during his quest. Death is poised to arrive at Northwatch; he must consider whether he can minimize the loss of life.
