1.10.2025 Tiwlip Visits The Sleeping Wood

This event took place on 1/10/2025 in the Sleeping Wood. This log is from Sirona's perspective.

You see Mistress Tiwlip.

She appears to be a Sylvankind.

She is diminutive. She appears to be young and robust. She has large hazel eyes and pale skin. She has long, reddish-gold hair worn in a profusion of barely managed curls.

She is in good shape.

She is holding a foxed silver mirror in her right hand and a mug of peppermint-infused hot dark chocolate in her left hand.

She is wearing a black-feathered skullcap, a short-waisted perse ataela robe, some sharply creased linen breeches, and a pair of black silk slippers.

[The Sleeping Wood, Silver Tree - 22390 - 22390] (u13125092)

Shaped into the form of a flower in bloom, this center room is framed by smooth log pieces seamlessly fitted together.  Surrounded by an inlaid marble floor of leaf-patterned mosaic, a tall silver tree serves as the focal point.  Sunlight glints from its outstretched branches, each one a realistically knotted length of argent metal.  A path of natural riverstones leads back to the garden.

Speaking in Sylvankind, Tiwlip says, "I'm Tiwlip. We haven't all met."

(Various greetings)

Speaking in Sylvankind, Tiwlip says, "It's so good to be amongst kin."

Speaking in Sylvankind, Tiwlip says, "I recognize a few of you, from here and there."

Speaking in Sylvankind, Tiwlip says, "I recognize a few of you, from here and there."

Tiwlip takes a drink from her hot dark chocolate.

Speaking in Sylvankind, Shyspirit softly says, "I spend most of my time around Icemule and Wehnimers."

Tiwlip fastidiously cleans her hands.

Speaking in Sylvankind to Shyspirit, Tiwlip asks, "How is that?"

Speaking in Sylvankind, Mairanu says, "Same here."

Grifforiel grins at Tiwlip.

Speaking in Sylvankind, Tiwlip asks, "How do they treat our people there?"

Speaking in Sylvankind, Shyspirit softly says, "Quite lovely, I get to sail quite often, I like how the sea breeze feels on my face."

Mairanu rubs his chin thoughtfully.

Speaking in Sylvankind, Tiwlip quietly says, "I have never been to sea."

Speaking in Sylvankind, Mairanu says, "No better or worse than anyone else, in general."

Ibar smiles.

Speaking softly in Sylvankind to Tiwlip, Sylthie says, "Results can vary."

Tiwlip nods.

Speaking in Sylvankind, you quietly say, "I spend most of my days in Solhaven now, where I grew up."

The little honeycombs waver slightly before fading away into nothingness.

Speaking in Sylvankind, you quietly say, "Nice to be back here though."

Speaking in Sylvankind, Tiwlip says, "I can't imagine growing up in a place like that."

Speaking in Sylvankind, Ibar says, "Really depends on the people you come across, but I have had nothing but posative experiences so far."

Speaking in Sylvankind, Tiwlip says, "Or this, for that matter."

Speaking in Sylvankind, Berrasi says, "I have recently moved back to the Nations to hunt."

Tiwlip nods.

Speaking in Sylvankind, Mairanu says, "I grew up near the Wyrdeep, it's less... well, dangerous. It's nice to visit from time to time, though."

Speaking in Sylvankind, you quietly say, "I grew up amongst the trees outside of town. We were lucky in that respect."

Speaking in Sylvankind, Mairanu clarifies, "Less dangerous in the Landing, that is."

Speaking in Sylvankind, Wynia says, "I spend many a day healing in the Landing, some time ago."

Speaking in Sylvankind, Tiwlip says, "I'm still not finding myself accustomed to this city."

Speaking in Sylvankind to Tiwlip, Mairanu asks, "Bit too "civilized", right?"

Speaking in Sylvankind, Tiwlip says, "I don't feel myself here."

Tiwlip nods at Mairanu.

Speaking in Sylvankind, Tiwlip says, "Even the natural here is...curated."

Grifforiel sighs softly.

Tiwlip glances at a tall silver tree.

Speaking in Sylvankind, Berrasi exclaims, "You never get accustomed to this city. Glahnvis and I decided that the ones who built this city were either drunk or had the map upside... or both!"

Wynia begins chuckling at Ibar!

Grifforiel grins at Berrasi.

Speaking in Sylvankind, Mairanu says, "Part of the charm of the Landing, I find. It's quite bustling, but in the end of the day it's still a frontier town. Less... polish."

Tiwlip nods thoughtfully.

Speaking in Sylvankind, you quietly say, "It is a beautiful city, but never truly feels like home."

Ibar ponders.

Speaking in Sylvankind, Grifforiel says, "I spend most of my time in and around the Landing, also."

Speaking in Sylvankind, you quietly say, "Though I like Illistem."

Speaking in Sylvankind, Ibar says, "There are several nice trees outside the gates to lounge in though."

Speaking in Sylvankind, Tiwlip says, "I hope that wherever you find yourselves, you still feel connected to our greater people."

You agree with Ibar.

Wynia nods at Tiwlip.

Berrasi smiles at Tiwlip.

Wynia suddenly pauses, a look of consternation crossing her features as she listens intently.

Speaking in Sylvankind, Mairanu agrees, "It is quite lovely. The architecture is remarkable, and the libraries are second to none. I will forever find myself merely a tourist here, though."

Speaking in Sylvankind, Tiwlip says, "I have heard about the library here."

You agree with Mairanu.

Speaking in Sylvankind, Tiwlip asks, "And the museum?"

Mairanu nods at Tiwlip.

Speaking in Sylvankind, Grifforiel says, "This is my first visit to the Nations."

Speaking in Sylvankind, you quietly say, "The arboretum is quite amazing."

Speaking softly in Sylvankind to a tall silver tree, Sylthie says, "Never wither, never die."

Sylthie rubs her chin thoughtfully.

Speaking in Sylvankind, Sylthie softly asks, "Never real, either, is it?"

Sylthie taps a tall silver tree.

Speaking in Sylvankind, Mairanu says, "Oh, the arboretum! I keep forgetting to visit."

Berrasi agrees with you.

Speaking in Sylvankind, you quietly say, "Be sure you do, its fascinating."

Speaking in Sylvankind, Ibar says, "Oh i do love the museum, especially the planetarium.."

Tiwlip starts to say something, then stops herself, shaking her head.

You nod at Ibar.

Ibar slowly empties his lungs.

Speaking in Sylvankind, Tiwlip says, "I don't trust libraries or museums."

Berrasi cocks her head at Tiwlip.

Speaking in Sylvankind to Tiwlip, Wynia asks, "Oh?"

Mairanu rubs his chin thoughtfully.

Speaking in Sylvankind, Tiwlip asks, "Is it true they chain up the books?"

>'I do wish we had more Sylvan gatherings though.

Speaking in Sylvankind, you quietly say, "I do wish we had more Sylvan gatherings though."

Wynia agrees with you.

Mairanu rubs his chin thoughtfully.

Ibar smiles.

Speaking in Sylvankind, Mairanu asks, "I suppose if it's an enchanted and dangerous book, maybe?"

Speaking in Sylvankind, Mairanu says, "Admittedly, I don't find myself in libraries as often as some."

Speaking in Sylvankind, Tiwlip asks, "And in museums, they keep things under glass, so you can't touch them?"

Speaking in Sylvankind, Mairanu says, "Excellent botanical references, though."

You smile at Tiwlip.

Mairanu rubs his chin thoughtfully.

Mairanu takes a drink from his hot dark chocolate.

Speaking quietly in Sylvankind to Tiwlip, you say, "They do not keep all books chained and you can check them out, and museums are just a wonder for knowledge and artifacts."

Speaking in Sylvankind, Tiwlip says, "Artifacts."

You smile at Tiwlip.

Speaking in Sylvankind, Tiwlip says, "You mean things that belong to other people."

Speaking in Sylvankind, Mairanu says, "I admit I never much thought about the glass. I suppose it's not only to keep grabby hands off of delicate pieces, but also to keep them safe from dust and moisture."

Speaking quietly in Sylvankind to Tiwlip, you say, "History."

Speaking in Sylvankind, Mairanu says, "I suppose it depends on the source."

Speaking in Sylvankind, you quietly say, "Things that might be...but are shared with the public for research and knowledge and culture."

Speaking in Sylvankind, Tiwlip asks, "Do all of the things in the museum here belong to the Illistimi?"

Speaking in Sylvankind, Tiwlip says, "Originally, I mean."

Shyspirit works her fingers under her flat-crown hat and scratches her head.

Speaking in Sylvankind, Mairanu considers, "Probably not originally, true."

Speaking quietly in Sylvankind to Tiwlip, you say, "I have no idea to be honest, who own them."

Speaking in Sylvankind to you, Tiwlip says, "It's worth finding out, I think."

Speaking in Sylvankind, Mairanu says, "The museum in the Landing, however, is about mostly local history. Can't really steal from yourself."

Speaking in Sylvankind, you quietly say, "In the landing, our museum has artifacts donated by all kinds of people."

Ibar nods in agreement.

Ibar smiles.

You agree with Tiwlip.

Speaking in Sylvankind, Tiwlip says, "I like that better."

Mairanu nods to you.

Speaking in Sylvankind, Mairanu says, "That too! I forgot it was mostly donations."

Speaking in Sylvankind, Tiwlip says, "But here then, no one needs to listen to me complain."

Speaking in Sylvankind, you quietly say, "You can even open the cabinets in the museum there...but please dont."

You chuckle.

Ibar grins at you.

You smile at Tiwlip.

Speaking in Sylvankind, Tiwlip says, "Let us focus on more fulfilling things."

Speaking in Sylvankind, Mairanu says, "Complain? Not so much as bring up interesting points."

You agree with Mairanu.

Speaking in Sylvankind, Mairanu says, "But, fair enough."

Mairanu nods.

Berrasi agrees with Mairanu.

Speaking in Sylvankind, Tiwlip says, "My little, gift, is to be able to make others see you as you see yourself."

Speaking in Sylvankind, Tiwlip says, "Inside."
