a chunk of ruddy bauxite

Description:   Unlovely and reddish-brown, the chunk of bauxite is not easily distinguished from a bit of hardened clay. Semicircular concretions of iron and aluminum disturb the rough surface, lending a hint of value to an otherwise worthless rock.
