All, I'm looking at trying a new way to get items on the GS calendar, and I wanted to trial it with CHEs first.
Essentially, here's how it's going to work -- I have a "player staging" calendar that I can give access to a googlegroup. Members of that group will be able to then add a calendar item onto the player staging calendar, and then GMs can review it and move it onto the live calendar.
However, we don't want a million different points of contact or things that are super difficult to track, so we need 1, reasonably stable, officer-based point-of-contact. This person must be an officer of your CHE and be trusted to submit appropriate calendar entries and follow the process. We're not going to want you changing this person a lot (preferably less than once a year), because updating the googlegroup will be a manual process.
If this works, and we keep it on, I'll update the CHE Officer Guide on the wiki with details and final processes/requirements.
Next Steps:
- I'm going to repurpose the CHE officer googlegroup for this. All current members will be removed. Since communication has been happening via Discord announcements copied to the wiki for the last few years, this shouldn't have an impact.
- I need each House chair (or designee) to complete the survey naming the officer who will be the calendar contact. You'll need a non-play.net email so they can be added to the googlegroup and have access to the calendar.

After I get everyone's submission and get the googlegroup updated, I'll post and email directions for how to use this, and we'll get to testing! For any MHO officers reading -- if this works well, I will consider setting something like this up for you as well, even though there is a bit of a manual process still to it; I think the benefits of getting your items on the calendar outweigh the work, if I can get it flowing nicely!
