Appearance
You see Faldric the Drifter. He appears to be a Human from Chastonia. He is tall. He has piercing steel grey eyes and fair skin. He has raggedly cut, tousled dark brown hair streaked with silver. He has a classical nose and a short beard.
Background
Faldric was born on the (XXXX), in a small estate situated northeast of Tamzyrr, in the foothills of the Yssian mountain range. His lineage is one of both noble and humble beginnings.
Parents His father was a former knight of the Empire and a prominent horse rancher who built his wealth by supplying horses and weaponry to the knighthood after his retirement. When he was younger, his character was forged in the fires of the battlefield as a member of the revered Order of the Golvern Star, a distinction that brought him both great honor and influence.
His mother, on the other hand, came from a humble background as the daughter of a baker. She is a follower of Koar and volunteered her time aiding the poor, passing on a deep sense of compassion and community to her children.
Early Age Faldric was the firstborn of the family line, destined to inherit not only the family’s wealth, but the burden of its name and reputation in Selanthia. From childhood, expectations wrapped around him like chains: to embody the family’s honor, to represent them in Selanthian halls, to carry their banner forward.
But Faldric’s heart was not forged for still courts and measured duties. He longed for freedom, for adventure, for the living breath of the sea instead of the suffocating air of obligation.
It began in whispers; "Is Faldric consorting with smugglers?". His coin mingling with the black markets along the Selanthian and Torre coastlines. Soon those whispers grew to accusations, and though his family’s name spared him the worst of justice, the shame was undeniable. The heir of the family, trafficking in dishonor.
One morning, he was gone from the family estate, abandoning his inheritance, his family, and the trust placed in him. It was suspected he fled south, but ultimately he became a ghost, only spoken of in hushed tones, a reminder of how quickly honor can decay.
Formative Years
After fleeing what he had grown up with, and his family renouncing his inheritance, he wound up in the earldom of Chastonia, specifically in The Swale where he spent many of his formative years. He continued to conspire with smugglers and traders in this large commerce city. Through various connections, he ended up sailing the seas off the coast of Estoria, Allace, Selanthia and Torre. He rose to captaincy, commanding men with a natural charisma that could not be denied. But still his holds carried shadowed cargo, and his reputation: pirate to some, smuggler to others, deepened the stain.
Years had gone by, when finally he decided enough of this sea life. He had built enough treasure for him to find kinship elsewhere. He grew tired of constantly watching his back, when the most extraordinary thing happened. While at port in Wehnimer's Landing, he befriended a certain dwarf that he had grown to trust and asked him to visit his home in Zul Logoth. A time when visiting, he found kinship among the dwarves. They respected hard work more than noble names, and Faldric buried his guilt in their mines and their drink.
Presently
Now, years later, Faldric drifts into River’s Rest. No longer a bright-eyed, mischievous youth, but a battle-worn sailor haunted by what he abandoned. He avoids Selanthia, avoids what he knew, and avoids even the mention of his family.
Why? Because to return is to face the truth: the heir that dishonored the very name he was born to uphold.
