Transmogrification Clothing

The Transmogrification Clothing was introduced on April 27, 2026. Transmogrification Clothing is a new clothing type that can drop with a long description from the treasure system. These are random-generated from a large pool of descriptions. You can TRANSFER the description of a piece of Transmogrification Clothing to an item that you already own provided that a) the items' wear locations match, b) both items have the same container or non-container status, and c) the recipient item isn't scripted, or if scripted, is on an approved list.

It is possible wear the Transmogrification Clothing as a permanent item using the CLEAN verb to remove its transmogrifying capabilities.

Transmogrification clothing has been tested and will not interfere with lightening, deepening, weight reduction, or resistance scripting.

Messaging

You hold your cotton greatcloak and ashen muslin shawl close to one another.  Thin filaments of light in a dazzling rainbow of hues crawl across the cotton greatcloak as its very essence unravels.  The shimmering threads streak toward the ashen muslin shawl and enmesh it in a radiant cocoon.  In a burst of color, the ashen muslin shawl is transmogrified into a perfect replica of the cotton greatcloak, which ceases to be.

Examples

You analyze the cotton greatcloak and sense that the creator has provided the following information:

This item allows you to transfer its appearance onto another compatible worn item by using the TRANSFER verb.  Hold this item in one hand and the target item in your other.  You must repeat the command within 30 seconds to confirm.

Rules:

   - Both items must be worn in the same location
   - Both items must either be containers or both be non-containers
   - If this item is a container, it must be empty before transfer
   - The source item is destroyed after a successful transfer
   - If the target item has a script, it must be one approved for transmogrification

You may also use CLEAN to remove this script from the item.

You might be able to have a talented merchant lighten the cotton greatcloak for you or deepen its pockets.
