Captain Parlay is offering four-hour river excursions on the casino riverboat the Albatross! Enjoy the wide array of gambling games, including Roulette, Let It Ride, Pirate Lottery, Chain Tumblers, and more! Move on to Silvers' Taproom and the Bewildered Buffet to enjoy an assortment of food and drink and catch up with friends around a dining table table! Adjourn to one of the private suites for a brief respite before disembarking at the end of the voyage.

Shopping is available in the Smoke Stack, the Gift Shop, and the Ladies' Luck Lounge. A merchant will be available in the Merchant's Nook, ready to provide general alteration, lightening, or deepening services to passengers.

---

Up to 25 players can sign up for each riverboat excursion. There is a three-service limit for each account. Offered services are: • description alterations, • making an item weigh 10% less down to the container's limit, or • making a container hold 10% more up to the following limits: backworn and cloakworn items up to incredible; shoulder-slung items up to particularly large; belt, beltworn, headworn, leg-worn, chest-worn, or over-the-front items up to fairly large; and any other container up to slightly small; however, items this last category will not be able to hold individual items that are larger than 2 pounds each. Pinworn containers are not eligible for the deepening service.

Please review the ALTER verb and ANALYZE your items to make sure you are prepared with your items and ideas when it is your turn. Ideas that do not comply with the rules in the ALTER verb will be denied. The merchant always has the final say on whether your item is eligible for a service.

Tickets will go on sale TONIGHT, June 23, at 8 pm Eastern for the first four runs:

Saturday, June 28: 1 pm - 5 pm
Sunday, June 29: 1 pm - 5 pm
Saturday, July 5: 1 pm - 5 pm
Sunday, July 6: 1 pm - 5 pm

The cost is $29.99 for each excursion. The event offers access to merchant services in an intimate setting, and the epic deepening isn't a service that has ever been offered outside of a box office event.

I'm not sure who coined the acronym, but it started springing up a few years ago, and I think we just accepted it.

I also think some of you might be getting the wrong idea of the event. So let me explain just a little more.

The Albatross itself is a free event. The Albatross isn't going anywhere in that regard. We are simply using the theme of the Albatross and its grounds for this venue. Building a new area tends to be a lot of work.

The Albatross was a Platinum creation, that GM Xynwen largely revamped some years ago. In 2010, GM Kaikala asked if I'd like to take over the Albatross, I enjoyed gambling, and I was trained to run Dragonbones, so it seemed like a good fit. In 2012, I decided to revamp the grounds to be a little more player friendly, and offer more automated gambling games, as well as more flavor with the NPCs on board. There were also several storylines that took place, eventually landing (pun) the Albatross in GM Kenstrom's hands.

During the last handful of events, players stated they wouldn't mind an event that JUST did GALD services, because it seemed like we don't offer it as much at places like RtCF, CCF, and even EG. Some players tend to have bad luck at winning, so we decided to limit the tickets and offer a service limit, so we can make sure each ticket goer can get the same number of services. That way it's not lopsided, and everyone is getting the same value. We are dedicating a block of time to doing these services, so we can guarantee our numbers.

The price point is what we determined we'd sell an alteration for if we offered it in the SimuCoin store. Because we can't offer something like that in an automated sense, this is our answer to that. Because a GM would have to manually handle that. We didn't want to do it as an alteration scroll because a large influx of alteration scrolls would not be fair to our Premium subscribers being bogged down if a lot of these sold. So this is the only way we can offer it.

And finally, the term epic deepening only meant a deepening service that can go beyond the normal limits. We've offered this service a couple times now, both with very extreme numbers. Those were at the price point of RtCF and CCF. When we deepen something, we tend to increase the capacity about 10% until it hits its max, which is in proportion to its base weight. That's why we have some players that know you need to deepen X amount of times before you should start lightening it. Sorry if the term epic deepening is a little confusing to what it really means. GM Vanah gave us more tools so you can know exactly where your containers are now, instead of wildly guessing. To help you out, here are the numbers you can max out at with this event.

160lbs - Back, cloak, and some shoulder containers.
70lbs - Hanging off the belt and some shoulder containers
50lbs - Over-the-front, and various other smaller containers
16lbs - Tiny containers like thigh sheaths, ankle sheaths and waist worn stuff.

We aren't automatically deepening things to the max, so we highly recommend you bring already max deepened containers to this event, so we can go beyond the normal limits.

Hey everyone, we've just set up more runs for the Albatross, based on feedback. Tickets are set up so anyone can buy them (as we didn't sell out last time). If this ends up being an issue, we can work on limiting ticket sales for future runs. But I know the majority of people interested in coming are those that came on previous runs.

September 6th - Prime - 1pm ET
September 7th - Platinum - 1pm ET
September 9th - Prime - 4pm ET
September 13th - Prime - 7pm ET

If there is a lot of interest, we can work on getting more up. The same services are being offered, general alterations, lightening, and deepening. The deepening service can take a cloak to a capacity of 160lbs. See previous posts for details on the deepening service. Platinum will get all this plus features and tattoos. You are still limited to 3 services total for this event though.
