Just to field some questions and concerns.
RtCF will run over the course of 4 months. One run per month, instead of all runs back to back. This will hopefully prevent burn out and all that mumbo jumbo! The dates are being finalized. As of right now, it will likely be around the same price point. It will be a LIMITED ticket sale (not everyone will be able to go). You will be restricted to one ticket per the entirety per account. But details on this are still coming. I'm just telling you what the goal is.
The MAJOR service list was turned in prior to this announcement, but that doesn't mean we can't make any last minute additions. We also have MINOR services that have not yet been planned. Now, don't let those terms cloud your judgment. MAJOR is just one win per account going. MINOR will not lock you out of another MINOR service or a MAJOR service. The hope is that everyone who attends will walk away with a MAJOR service as long as you make yourself available.
Will AFK wins be allowed? Well yes and no, it will be up to the GM offering the service. All wins must be redeemed before the end of the event or turned into QC. We will define this as we get closer.
Will I need millions of silvers? Each service will still have prices. Some will vary. The more uber you make the item, the more uber the price tag in most cases. But we'll hammer out prices before tickets go on sale so you're well aware.

The event will be a week long, there will be some other activities in the week you can do, like shopping or partaking in the mini quest. There will also be GALD during the week, but probably not much. No actual big services though.

Major vs Minor Services

Subject: MAJOR vs MINOR Services
Hey everyone,
I got a decent chunk of emails this last week from players concerning the subject of this thread. Let me point out the difference between MAJOR vs MINOR. MAJOR is limited to one per account. MINOR doesn't limit the account from other services. That's it. They are not determining the quality of the service. For the MAJOR services, we selected a decent variety of mechanical services. But we didn't want you to be limited to one awesome thing, and then everything else was dull. We want you to walk away with some really fun things on your gear, and maybe walk away with a few new items. This is one of our higher price-tag events, so the quality of services are on the top of the properties chain.
So please don't confuse the two terms. All one does is limit how many you can get. This is just to spread the love as MUCH as possible and not make it such a free for all. Hopefully everyone walks away with something they can use. But be warned, if you skip out on MAJOR services and you start seeing more services than players receiving them, someone will walk away empty handed, and not get a MAJOR service. So be very careful holding out for the big ticket things (most GMs who are doing the big ticket services/items do plan to get them out earlier in the event). But once the weekend is over, that's it, all MAJOR and MINOR services are done. Whether there are leftovers or not. Leftover MAJORs will not be given to those that miss out. Only a consolation prize, which will not be on par to any MAJOR service.
I've worked with several GMs thoroughly on getting services, restrictions, and general information in order to provide both a upper tier and balancing event. I'm sure there will be some restrictions in place that aren't great. I'm working on finalizing a list so you guys are well informed.
But as always, we'll have more information as we get closer to the event.

Subject: Dates and Distribution
Dates are just about finalized. These aren't set in stone, but consider these the dates for the event. Just don't start taking time off of work, planning vacation days, etc, until I give the official listing of the dates.
- June 7th - 14th: Prime
- July 12th - 19th: Platinum
- August 2nd - 9th: Prime
- September 6th - 13th: Prime
- TBD: Shattered
Each run will have 100 tickets (except Shattered which is TBD).
We will try to use a variety of ways to distribute items. I know "fish-hooking" got some negative responses, but not everything will be favored by everyone. That's the nature of the beast. I loathe raffles, can't stand them. A piece of my GM soul dies anytime I use them (lol Wyrom, GMs don't have souls). So yeah, it's hit or miss. Some people hate trivia games. Some people hate scavenger hunts. Some people hate guess the verb.
Lastly, there will hopefully be some more special offerings (not services, something else) we'll let you know about as we get closer to the first run.

Subject: Returning to Coraesine Field: Dates and Tickets
Alright, so we'll have an official news item up with all the details. But this is so you can start planning.
Dates are official.
| Instance | Opening Date | Close Date |
|---|---|---|
| Prime (Run 1) | June 7th @ 9pm EST | June 14th @ 11:59pm PST |
| Platinum | July 12th @ 9pm EST | July 19th @ 11:59pm PST |
| Prime (Run 2) | August 2nd @ 9pm EST | August 9th @ 11:59pm PST |
| Prime (Run 3) | September 6th @ 9pm EST | September 13th @ 11:59pm PST |
| Shattered | TBD | TBD |
Tickets will go on sale for the first run for Prime on May 1st. Premium users will definitely have an edge on securing a ticket. There will be a way to earn a free ticket to this event. More details will come within the next week or so.
We will effectively have 101 tickets at each run, which means 101 MAJOR services. That's 100 tickets going on sale, and a free ticket for each run. Again, details will come within the next week or so on how to earn a free ticket. In the event one of the runs doesn't sell out, it will not result in the MAJOR service restriction being lifted. It will still end up 1:1.
Tickets will be limited to one ticket per account. As it stands right now, only one character will be allowed entry into the event. Only a small handful of MAJOR services are attuned. You will know all the services before tickets go on sale. There will be some profession-based services offered during the week and/or as MINOR services. So plan accordingly.
This event is going old school, with the majority of everything happening during the weekend. There will be some events during the week, but it will be limited to GALD, feature alterations, tattoos, custom nightmares, sonic alterations, and script unlocking (and some adding, but fluff stuff). All MAJOR and MINOR services will be on the weekend! We also have a mini quest that will be available to score the event gift this year.
Broken record time, but more details will be available soon.

Starting this week, we'll have a series of posts explaining the background story of the return to Coraesine Field. This will explain the events that happened since the previous event and and get us up to speed to the why we're going back. This will also start the reasoning to some of events that will transpire during the event.
Because we want to avoid an "instance" feel this year, there won't be an actual storyline during the event, just some NPC face time and a mini quest. Please note, the way players complete the mini quest will determine the fate of the Coraesine Field. This will make sense down the road when you actually go to the event.

A representative of the merchant consortium, Arkford of Selanthia, grew curious of the plot of land known as Coraesine Field. It had been four long years since diplomats gathered, and the disasters that followed. He decided it was time to return to the field, and see what had become of it. Last he knew, the gnomes caused an explosion and destroyed much of the spire during their visit in 5109. Arkford packed his things and began his journey toward the Elven Nations, to the area near Ta'Illistim known as Coraesine Field.

Upon arrival, he found the field in turmoil. The various buildings were laid to waste, with foliage reclaiming most of the unattended land. Arkford noticed an oddity beyond the field. A bog oak forest that was not logged in any of the happenings of 5109. But the forest was mammoth in size, much larger than anything that could have began growing only four years ago. He explored the vast forest, but the foliage that claimed the land as home made the trails hard to follow. It seemed like the forest was even larger from the time he entered it until he exited it. How could this be? How could a forest grow that much in such a small amount of time? Arkford spent days wandering through the forest's depths, each time he entered, it seemed to be different. Will-o'-wisps fluttered through out the area, like colorful motes. Small hillsides interrupted the greenery, bringing with them narrow brooks and streams. Arkford eventually found a massive sprawling oak tree, and while observing this old guardian of the forest, he saw a beautiful creature off in the distance; a dryad. But she never stayed for long. Even when Arkford would wait for her, her presence was there for a fleeting moment. Was she the cause of the forest?

But the forest didn't stop Arkford from planning a festival. Over the next several days, he began cleaning up the pathways, and tearing down the former remains of pavilions and tents, or well, he did the best he could. He gained the help of local farmers to help clear out debris and rubble, some of them helping with the field and attempting to cut down the overgrowth emerging from the forest.
Arkford began inviting merchants from across the land, in hopes they could represent the dream that once was the Coraesine Field. To rebuild, to rejoice, and to celebrate the rebirth of spring. Familiar faces began arriving, setting up their various wagons and tents, with plenty of wares to offer. Many merchants bringing with them their best wares, and greatest services yet.

Subject: Returning to Coraesine Field: Ticket Sales
Tickets will go on sale for Premium users May 1st for the first Prime run. We will do a batch of 25 tickets around noon EDT. And we will do 25 tickets again around 8pm EDT. On May 2nd, we will do the same thing, but for all subscribers.
Tickets for Platinum's run in July will go on sale June 1st, 50 tickets at noon. And then on June 2nd, another 50 tickets. Since by default all Platinum users are Premium subscribers, there will be no need to change the subscription status between the two days.
For Prime's 2nd and 3rd run, we will mimic the same outline as May, except we will sell them in July and August for August and September.
Ticket price will be $74.95.
There will be a way to achieve a free ticket to the event. Should you buy a ticket, and then be one of the lucky people to find a ticket, just contact billing to get everything straightened out. If that situation happens, the ticket will go back on sale, so be sure to check the ticket page every now and then. I will announce when a free ticket has been claimed. And I will announce when there are no more. There will be one per run (yes, including Platinum).

Free Ticket

Subject: Returning to Coraesine Field: Free Ticket, Vouchers, and Fliers
On May 1st, we will be turning on a feature in the treasure system that will randomly create an envelope inside a treasure chest (you know, the same boxes you find while hunting creatures). This will be sort of like the taffy from 2006, but it will be a little different. For one, it won't be candy. You'll get some special messaging when you GET an envelope to remind you it's not junk. And when you OPEN it, it will generate some messaging, as well as an item. The majority of the items will be a flier.
Some lucky people will find vouchers (there will be plenty of them). These vouchers are nontransferable, but you can pass them off to another character on your account. So if you're not going to the event, I would highly advise not opening any envelopes. You may GET them and pass them to a friend to OPEN if you so choose. I will be notified when a voucher is opened (via OPEN, not GET). The vouchers will include, but aren't limited to, special items, service discounts on MAJOR services (a silver discount, that is), and character customization. Multiple vouchers can be used by a single character, but again, they are nontransferable (outside another character on your account).
And finally, one lucky person per run will find a free ticket. This is also nontransferable, same rules apply as above. Should you have bought a ticket and then find a free ticket, you'll need to contact billing to get that all straightened out. For the free ticket, the run it will be for will be listed on the winning ticket in game. If for whatever reason, you cannot attend that run, please get in touch with me right away.
Don't let the storyline post confuse it. The envelopes aren't restricted to bandits. They can be on any creature that can generate a box (so in all reality, bandits won't have any). I will announce here on the forums, Twitter, and Facebook when a ticket is found.
The messaging when you OPEN one of these envelopes will be very clear on your instructions as to what to do. You will also be left with an item in game.
Happy hunting!

So, due to popular request, we will try to offer an RtCF Lite. It will likely be the 3rd week of each month (June - Sept). It will just be the shops, grounds, and quest. There will be absolutely no merchants at this portion of the event. Shopping isn't going to be on the level of say, Ebon Gate, but there are over twenty planned for release. And to give a little teaser, the fusion shaman will be making a visit to Coraesine Field (but I don't believe any fusion equipment will be available).
Price is being worked out still, but it will be considerably cheaper than most pay events. This will have limited ticket sales as well. How many tickets is still being determined. I will post more information when I have it.

Envelopes
Topic: Coraesine Field
Message #: 2111
Author: GS4-WYROM
Date: 05/01/2013
Subject: Returning to Coraesine Field: Envelopes
A lot of questions and confusion about the envelopes, so let me try to explain them in better detail.
Each treasure chest found has a random chance at creating an envelope. I'm not going to go into specifics on the numbers at all, but let's just say one in every ten boxes found will have a CHANCE in creating an envelope.
Envelopes have 3 flavors right now. The fliers (posters), vouchers, and a free ticket. The posters you are currently finding will likely make up the majority of all envelopes you will come across. These will stay active in the treasure system until September, and there is only one free ticket per run (so 3 in Prime, 1 in Platinum), and a handful of assorted vouchers. Use the same logic you'd use at finding a box-found item to find a voucher or free ticket. Not the randomly created stuff the treasure system makes.
Vouchers are broken down into two categories.
- MAJOR Service Discounts (ex. 5% or 10% off your MAJOR service)
- Special Services (ex. a fully unlocked ClimateWear garment, a custom logon/logoff, and much more)
The MAJOR service discount vouchers will only be good at the FULL event. They are 100% useless at the LITE event. But the special services can be redeemed at a LITE event, if you happen to have one. The special services aren't anything on par of the MAJOR services. Just some random doodads and character customization. Nothing like enchanting, sighting, weighting, padding, etc.
Free tickets are exactly what they say they are, a free ticket into the FULL event. The date of the run will be apparent.
For the vouchers and free ticket, you will be given instructions when you OPEN them (in bold), and at that time, they will be attuned to your account. I will be messaged with the character you opened it up with, and the account that character is on. All of that information is logged. They are 100% nontransferable, outside another character on your account. You will gain a physical item, like the posters in the general release ones, that you can refer to. If for some reason, you lose the physical item or missed the BOLD messaging when you opened the envelope, you are always welcome to email me (GS4-Wyrom@play.net).
Hopefully that answers a lot of questions. Please don't expect to find vouchers and free tickets quickly, it's intended to be a slow-paced hunt.
Pro Tip: Underhunted creatures are better options than overhunted creatures. Hunting areas with less traffic is a better option.
You can also TURN a poster to make confetti. They have a number of verbs too. Vouchers and free tickets won't have any special verbs. It is possible that if you find a voucher or free ticket, that a second envelope will generate in your treasure chest that is just a poster.

Subject: Returning to Coraesine Field: Quest Souvenir
The souvenir this year is sentient, on the same scale as the sand elementals from the Wavedancer quest. I don't want to give too much away, but I want to sate the expectations that this is a mechanical item. It isn't. It's an extremely interactive pet that you have to bond to to unlock more of its abilities. It has some cosmetic abilities, and I think it will be a highly sought after item. It doesn't exactly attune to you, but the bonding process requires an attunement that can be later broken, if you wish.
How you complete the quest will determine a number of aspects on the sentient being, but the end result of the physical item will be the same. Meaning you don't get extra perks by completing the quest it one way or another. Hard to go into details without giving everything away.
This project was by far the biggest project I've coded though for any series of items I've made since I started GMing. Outside the updated spinners and digging, this takes the cake! So I hope everyone who decides to complete the quest and get the souvenir will enjoy it.

So, Lite Entry will be going on sale Monday, at 8pm EDT. The run will be June 21st to June 28th. This run will have absolutely no merchant activity or services. You can complete the quest, shop, explore the grounds, and if you have any vouchers, turn them in to Arkford (me) to redeem them (I will be checking to see if anyone who has a voucher is attending, no need to contact me). Vouchers for discounts will be void for the Lite Entry, as there are no services to gain discounts with.
If you purchased a ticket to the full run, you will be able to purchase one for the Lite run. Please note, if you do buy a ticket for the Lite run, you will be blocked from completing the quest with the same character. So you will need to bring a different character.
Premium will have first crack at tickets. There will be 100 tickets for the first Lite run. Price I believe will be $19.95. We'll have another Lite run in August, and then in September, likely to be the 3rd Friday of each month, which tickets going on sale the week before in each case (this is subject to change if needed). The Lite Entry runs will be in Prime only.

Subject: Returning to Coraesine Field: Conclusion
The dryad moved through the forest toward the vast field, now teeming with life with numerous saplings poking through the soil. She grazed her twig-like fingers over the budding leaves, causing them to react to her touch. The forest would grow and take the field, and the satyr fled, stopping his blight. With only a small portion of saplings diseased, tranquility would prosper. The field will be no more, with the help of the senescent tree spirit's mana apex, it would engulf the old farms and festival grounds in due time with the dryad's magic.
---
The dryad beat the satyr by a landslide. The numbers are staggering when you look at how many people sided with the dryad. For those wondering, had anyone communed to Kuon on the full run, they would have found that both the dryad and satyr were not positive forces. While from the outside, it was very good vs. evil, the farmer expressed the forest being unnatural. A commune to Oleani would have explained the forest in full bloom and growing like it has been was not proper.
The results have molded the course of the Coraesine Field, and have pushed the satyr into a new setting. Feywrot Mire.
When Sherlise and I were brainstorming the quest, I originally wanted to have another option that would have been the farmer found outside the forest. He was going to task players to cut down the trees and bring acorns/seeds to him. The issue was, the quest item was going to be a farming tool, which wasn't up to the same standards of the wisps. And the wisps were already a massive project, so coding something else similar wasn't in the cards. So only some of the remnants of that option were left behind.
I know the quest ended up being easy, and I know the storyline elements didn't work out too well, I still hope it was enjoyable. It also put forward some consequences for siding with the dryad.
