Snake flare

Snake flares are a scripted flare available for weapons. They were introduced by the merchant Serpantis and created by GM Khaladon. Snake flares take both the script and flare slot. Usage Verb First Third KISS As you ignorantly attempt to kiss your black vultite falchion, the pit-headed black viper lashes out at you aggressively! Whatever were you thinking? PROD You prod at your black vultite falchion with the tip of your finger, and the pit-headed black viper coiled around it lunges out at you, flickering its silvery black tongue as a warning signal. This section has not been added yet; please add to it now! PULL You grab the pit-headed black viper wrapped around your falchion and give it a solid yank! It hisses dangerously at you. This section has not been added yet; please add to it now! RUB As you touch your falchion, the pit-headed black viper recoils defensively and rattles its tail. TAP You gently tap your black vultite falchion and the pit-headed black viper hisses as it hurriedly slithers down the length of it in a tight spiral. Additional Information Appearance The snake flare script includes a living snake that is coiled around the weapon, which is the source of the flares. This snake shows up in the weapon's appearance. Wrapped around the falchion is a pit-headed black viper staring at you with malice in its eyes. Combat Examples You swing a serrated black vultite falchion at a mountain ogre! AS: +191 vs DS: +107 with AvD: +34 + d100 roll: +52 = +170 ... and hit for 30 points of damage! Bones in right arm crack. The pit-headed black viper darts from your falchion and coils itself around the ogre throat in a firm grip. It gasps for air as it squeezes harder and then sinks its fangs into it. ... 10 points of damage! Brushing blow to left hand. You also see a mountain ogre that appears partially immobilized. The a pit-headed black viper strikes out from your falchion and latches onto the orc with its sharp venemous fangs. It struggles to shake it off but to no avail as the poison seeps quickly into its blood stream. ... 30 points of damage! Hard strike to right leg breaking tendons and bone! It is knocked to the ground! The silverback orc is stunned! You swing a serrated black vultite falchion at a silverback orc! AS: +260 vs DS: +156 with AvD: +38 + d100 roll: +59 = +201 ... and hit for 45 points of damage! Skull cracks in several places. The silverback orc is stunned! The a pit-headed black viper hisses a warning, then lashes out in a blur and strikes the orc. Its eyes glint coldly as it momentarilly stares at its victim. ... 30 points of damage! Hard strike to right arm breaking tendons and bone! The a pit-headed black viper on your falchion hisses steadily as it slithers up and down it. With a quick lunge it lashes out at the orc leaving a painfully stinging bite wound. As quickly as it struck, it recoils back onto the falchion protectively. ... 30 points of damage! Hard strike to left eye pops it! The silverback orc is stunned!
