I wanted her name back. The name belongs to the band, not her. If I affirm to the council of seers that my sister Donna has passed away, I can demand her name so that I can honor her and bury her. As a seer capable of performing a ritual of unnaming, I also had the right to demand that I do the unnaming personally. So one spring morning, I sat in that field of flowers and prayed for Oleani's blessing. Then I took my sister's name back and offered it to Oleani. The flowers were so pretty and I was filled with a sense of warmth and love.

BELLADONNA WAS YOUR SISTER.

If you ever say that name in my presence again, I will stab you in the eye so deep it'll come out your foot.

WHAT DOES IT MEAN TO TAKE HER NAME? SHE CAN JUST GO ON BEING BELL...THAT NAME, RIGHT?

Oh no. Not only can she not use the name, she cannot say the name, hear the name, or even think the name without suffering intense, crippling psychic pain. She cannot use any part of Donna's spirit, anything that was Donna's. So she can't use magic now. That was all Donna. It's terrible to have a name taken like this...it's rare. She knows who did it to her, too, I made sure of that. I did.

HOW DID YOU DO THAT?

One time Donna and I saw a colorful little bird sitting on it's nest. Donna always called me 'little bird' because I was so small. We kept trying to look in the nest to see the baby birds, but whenever we got close, the mama bird would put it's pretty colored wing over the nest to protect the babies. Donna said, "She's protecting her little birds, Little Bird" and I said, "Does that make you my wing?" That stuck for awhile and we were Bird and Wing.

The unnaming requires a bit of psychic imagery to pull it off. There are innumerable ways to do it, but this is what I chose. The last thing she ever saw of my sister was Donna being wrapped in a pretty colorful bird's wing and disappearing forever.
