| A lone luminescent toadstool tries vainly to light all the corners in this small stone shop. The walls, floor and ceiling are covered with furs, hides, and skins from nearly every creature across the lands. A metal cabinet on the north wall contains teeth, bones, eyes, and other assorted parts, while two large large metal racks hold hides in various states of scraping and tanning. From behind a low stone counter, the proprietor keeps an eye on his stock and customers. You also see Dagresar the furrier. | |

A short dwarf, even by dwarf standards, paces back and forth behind the low counter. His long, white beard has grown to his knees, perhaps to compensate for the total lack of hair on his head. He watches everything nervously through beady black eyes and constantly wipes his hands on his blue canvas shirt and brown leather pants in an exaggerated mannerism. Dagresar frowns at you and says, "I hope your shoes aren't muddy! Those are valuable furs you're walking on." Dagresar glances over at a customer who is gently prodding one of the furs. "Ya break it, ya pay for it!" he announces loudly. As the customer jumps back, Dagresar snickers and says quietly, "Who ever heard of breaking a fur?" Dagresar pulls out a small broom from under the counter and proceeds to brush the dust off the counter top. Dagresar says to no one in particular, "You know, some people get downright perturbed about skinning dogs and cats. Me, I don't mind. Just more silver." Dagresar says to no one in particular, "Guy tried to sell me what he thought was a makelovic eye the other day. Ha! I convinced him it was a schlecto eye. Bought it for a song. Was really a bastic eye. Gonna resell that and make A LOT of silver. Dagresar turns around and arranges the eyes into a neat pile, but several of them just roll away on the $-43118N shelf again. He shrugs and turns back to watching the shop. Dagresar walks over to one of the tanning racks. He picks up a scraper and pulls the scraper over the hide for a bit, causing small bits to cascade to the floor. Distracted and concerned by a customer's handling of a piece of bone, he abandons the scraping and returns to his position behind the counter.
