DISCORD Type System

The DISCORD verb is used to authenticate your play.net account with the official GemStone IV Discord server.

• Only Premium subscribers can access the #premium channel.
• Only Platinum subscribers can access the #platinum channel and must run the DISCORD verb from the Platinum instance.
• Only Shattered subscribers can access the #shattered channel and must run the DISCORD verb from the Shattered instance.
• All users, even those who haven't authenticated yet, can access the #general, #help, and #off-topic channels.
• You can always update your Server Nickname by just running the DISCORD SETUP command again (on a different character on the same account or by switching between CHARACTER and ACCOUNT).

Use of the official GemStone IV Discord server is subject to the Discord Code of Conduct.

NOTE: This menu populates with DISCORD HELP or DISCORD by itself.

USAGE: DISCORD [option] {args}

Options:
  SETUP - runs setup process to authenticate a user on the Discord server.
  VIEW  - view existing account/character data used by Discord.
  RESET - resets existing Discord authentication.

• Non-authenticated Discord users can now see all channels on the GemStone IV server, but cannot send messages (except in ⁠game-chatter , ⁠help , ⁠scripting, and ⁠off-topic). Use DISCORD SETUP in-game to authenticate and gain access to send messages in all channels!

By itself

Welcome to the Discord authentication utility.  We'll ask a few questions to gather information that will be used to sync you with the Official GemStone IV Discord server.

First, join the server at https://discord.gg/KF9Wr8u.

After joining, issue the following command in-game with your Username to gain access to the chat channels:

  DISCORD SETUP [ACCOUNT|CHARACTER] Username

* Input ACCOUNT if you wish to set your Server Nickname to your Play.net account name.  Input CHARACTER if you wish to use your current character's name.  Do not input your actual account or character name.
* Username should be your Discord Username.
* By completing this process, you agree that you have read, understand, accept, and agree to abide by the Code of Conduct posted in the #discord-rules channel.

If you need help, typing /DISCORD in any channel on the Discord server will cause the Tonis bot to reply with the exact command to copy and paste into the game to authenticate.

Incomplete or incorrect entry

You must specify if you want your GS Discord Server Nickname to be your ACCOUNT or current CHARACTER name.  Type DISCORD SETUP [ACCOUNT|CHARACTER] {USERNAME} to try again.

Full and correct entry

Recorded User#1234 as your Discord Username and (Nickname) as your Server Nickname.

VIEW

Not setup

Your account is not currently setup.  Please use DISCORD SETUP [ACCOUNT|CHARACTER] {USERNAME} to do so now.

Setup

Your Discord Username is User#1234.  Your Server Nickname is (Nickname).

RESET

Not setup

Your account is not currently setup.  There is nothing to reset.

Setup

Your Discord account data has been removed.  You will no longer be authenticated on the GS Discord server.
