Adventurers can go clamming on the Isle of Shells and in Nereid's Cradle to catch clams and other clam-adjacent things.
The clams can be CUT open to shuck and eat raw or given to the cook in the area to cook, or used as an ingredient in the stovetop cooking system or as a flavor or scent additive.
[Nereid's Cradle, Sand Beds] RN: 1917020 Isolated from the beach, the soft sands are set back from the rollicking surf and sheltered by the curve of the land. Ocean water glides into the air through breaks in the surrounding walks, which keeps the clam beds hydrated and fresh. A large boulder, its base draped in seaweed and its sides splattered in seafoam, acts as a breakpoint between the soft sand and the tide. You also see a tall bronze-skinned giantman. Obvious paths: southwest > The bronze-skinned giantman idly laces and unlaces the strings on his tunic. >pull my rake Moving to the water's edge, you take a firm hold of your rake and drop it into the water. Stretching your arms as far away from you as you can, you dig the rake into the sand and begin to dredge through the mud. Over and over, you pull the rake closer to you in hopes of drawing some clams from the moist beach. Strive though you might, you are unable to find any clams this time. Roundtime: 13 sec. >push my rake Moving to the water's edge, you take a firm hold of your rake and drop it into the water. Pushing with all your weight, you shove the basket of the iron-reinforced rake into the soft sand and begin to push it rapidly back and forth hoping to draw some clams from the moist depths. You feel the comfortable weight of several courtnecks in the basket of your rake. Roundtime: 13 sec. >get oyster You remove a bumpy odd-shaped oyster from in your iron-reinforced rake. >cut my oyster with my knife You place the edge of your knife against the joint where the two halves of the oyster meet. Applying a bit of pressure, you hear a gratifying crunch as the joint gives. You discard the useless top and are left with a shucked oyster on a half-shell. >eat my oyster Using your shank knife, you cut off some of your shucked oyster and take a bite. Placing the edge of the shell to your lips, you tilt your head back and suck the slightly chilled oyster from it. Tiny bits of sand give the oyster a slightly gritty texture but that doesn't dampen the salty flavor. That was the last of it! You are left holding an empty oyster shell.
[Nereid's Crade, East Bonfire] RN: 1917019 Resembling a manicured lawn, the outcropping is sheltered by the cliffs of Kraken's Fall on the west and encircled by a white picket fence on the north and east. An octagonal picnic table and a driftwood bench are scattered about the area, while an open-air kitchen is built directly against the cliff face. A large blazing bonfire surrounded by stones and sand is the focal point of the plain, while a rickety sun-faded staircase leads to the beach below. You also see a lithe half-elven cook. Obvious paths: south >get court You remove a banded pale white courtneck from in your iron-reinforced rake. >give cook "Wonderful!" the cook exclaims. The cook accepts your pale white courtneck with enthusiasm and begins to prepare it for you. After several moments, she turns back to you and hands you a plate of scampi-style pasta covered in a clam-riddled florentine sauce. >eat my pasta You take a bite of your scampi-style pasta. Skeins of spinach mingle with oregano and garlic within a light sauce of saltwater and tomato, the interesting combination accenting the bold flavor of the pasta dish. You have 4 bites left.
