Basics
- Mana Leech, 516, is a wizard's mana returning spell. On a succesful warding of critter or other character, the wizard will "steal" mana from the target. At no point will a wizard be able to leech more mana then they can hold. A successful leech will cost one mana point, while a failed cast will cost 16.
How much mana can I leech?
- As a wizard continually uses 516, the amount of mana they can receive lessens. In a session of leeching, assuming no time has passed in between, the wizard can in total leech as much mana as their head can hold. ie. A wizard with a 200 mana capacity can leech 200 mana in a row without resting.
- Assuming that the target has enough mana and the end roll is high enough, a first successful cast of mana leech in a session will yield the amount of 500 ranks the wizard has (less the one mana point for casting). ie. If a wizard konws up to spell rank 550, they will acquire 49 mana from their first leech.
- On each successive cast of mana leech (again assuming that the end roll is high enough and the target has enough mana) the caster will receive 10% less mana than the leech previous. If the mage in the previous example got 49 mana on the first shot, they will get approximately 45 mana on the next cast. This will continually occur until the wizard "uses up" their mana leech, and is no longer receiving mana from successful wardings.
Mana Leech Recovery
- After the wizard has "ran out" of leeches, they must rest off the effects. When the wizard has fully recovered from the session, they will see the message: You no longer feel the effect of casting mana leech. If a wizard does not wait for this message, they will be able to leech again slowly, but it will be considered the same session.
Skills that effect Mana Leech
- The Major Elemental Circle: Ranks in this circle determine the maximum amount leechable on the first cast. This circle will also help in determining the wizard's warding strength (CS) of the spell.
- Harness Power: The skill that determines the amount of mana a wizard can hold, determines the maximum mana a wizard can leech in a session without resting.
- Elemental Mana Control: The more ranks of this skill, the faster a mage can shake off the effects of a mana leeching session.
