Gallard Wilke was a minor baron in Bourth. In year 4599, he sent imperial tax collectors to elves living on the edge of the Wyrdeep Forest. The tax collectors were killed, and in response Lord Gallard sent forces to raze one of the elven villages. The conflict soon escalated into the First Elven War between the Turamzzyrian Empire and the House of Nalfein.
The city of Gallardshold was originally established as a wartime outpost by Lord Gallard.
