=The Night in a Nutshell=

 Some townspeople wander by, "...and I heard they all intend not to hand over this....this statue or what not, so we best get ready because we all know that...."  Their voices trail off as they walk out of range.
 Black-armored armigers multiple in number along the bulwark towers near the center of town, arrows drawn, eyes to the west and all over the town.
 As armigers man the bulwark towers, several dozen more armigers flood into the street corners surrounding the center of town.  They take position, weapons drawn, eyes to the street, as they hold the line around the bulwark towers, creating a safe haven all around Town Square Central.
 Slipping in and out of alleyways, a lone white-cloaked figure moves amidst the light snowfall, prowling the streets.
 [General] Vlashandra asks, "You won't end this easily, will you?"
 [various responses]
 [General] Vlashandra thinks, "I was hoping you'd say that. You know my love of pain."
 Heavy fog begins to creep along the streets of town, hugging the cobblestones like a blanket of rolling ash.
 A large bone wall rises along West Ring Road.
 [bashing and casting at the wall for the entire night, and it retaliates with damage and disease, amidst combat later]
 A second bone wall rises on the west side of town.
 Behind the towering bone walls, the tip of bloodstained wooden catapults come into view.
 A viscous sphere of flame arcs into the area!
 The viscous sphere of flame impacts the ground nearby, dispersing fiery globules all over!
 [people getting set on fire]

 Along North Ring Road, the ground breaks open and patchwork zombies claw out into view!  YOUNGER armigers and town guards rush off to clash with them!
 Dark hooded figures rise up from the rooftops of Wehnimer's Landing, some with arrows nocked in bows, while others wield rune-etched handpylons and begin to take aim on the undead flooding the streets!  Arrows fly, glowing white and striking zombies and shricken!  The sizzling flare of fire bolts or ice blasts spiral out from handpylons of the Rooks as they move along rooftops.

 Tendrils of electricity snake across the night sky, briefly illuminating the murky black clouds above.

 Suddenly, the snap of a catapult behind the bone walls is heard and a loud WHOOSH erupts in the night!  But instead of rocks, fire or arrows being launched, it is instead a cluster of skeletal forms, twisted and wrapped together like a sphere of jagged bones that go soaring up into the sky and fall along East Ring Road!  When the bones land, they rise and form into pale skeletal hunters!
 Dark hooded figures continue to run along rooftops, firing blessed arrows or handpylons at the undead in the streets!  Meanwhile, black-armored armigers fire bolts and arrows from their bulwark towers!
 Emerging from the depth of night, a host of huge rotting griffins swoop into view, bolts of electricity circling around them!  They descend rapidly and send a violent volley of lightning bolts to attack the Rooks along the rooftops!
 In response to the death griffins in the sky, the black-armored armigers roll out an imperial wagon outside of Moot Hall.  A blue-white flare flashes within the pylon on the wagon.  Someone nearby shouts, "Man the pylon!  Let's blow those bone birds out of the sky!"

 Another catapult launches a ball of skeletal hunters that reassemble when they land on the Eastern Side of Town!  Soon they spark some white fires along the East side of town as the pale flames reach to the sky!
 Dozens of death griffins swarm the sky above the town, firing blasts of lightning down at the rooftops, sending Rooks flying for cover, or unfortunate to be caught in the blast and falling away!

 [the wall begins retaliating to the tune of 20-100 damage instead of 1-5, then eventually...]
 Leafiara bashes at the large bone wall with her eonake warblade!

 The wall begins to crack in some areas.
 A swarm of chittering beady-eyed reapers rush in and quickly overwhelm Roelon!  Their tiny teeth and razor-sharp claws quickly flay chunks of flesh and skin away from his body!  The reapers soon leap off and scatter, carrying bits of skin with them.

 The wall weakens more.

 A white-cloaked figure runs along some nearby rooftops, wisps of smoke still rising up from the death griffin's lightning bolts.  Moving side to side, the figure hurls blasts of force from its gauntlets, striking some griffins in the sky!
 A death griffin swoops down and suddenly snatches up Chandrellia and lifts her up into the sky, digging its bloody talons into the flesh of her shoulders!  As the undead creature goes higher, a white-cloaked figure rushes along a nearby rooftop and fires a force blast, knocking the griffin to the side and Chandrellia falls and falls, landing on the West Ring Road, on the other side of the bone walls!

 Vlashandra says, "We had so little conflict until you decided to take what was mine."
 Speaking softly to Vlashandra, Chandrellia says, "It wasn't yours."
 Speaking to Vlashandra, Thrassus says, "That statue was not yours."
 Vlashandra waves her hand in a dismissive gesture.
 Vlashandra says, "It's not here. We've searched."
 Vlashandra says, "But it hasn't stopped me from skinning some Rooks."
 Vlashandra smirks.
 Vlashandra says, "I'll keep coming for it."
 Speaking to Vlashandra, Raelee asks, "What were your plans for the statue?"
 Vlashandra says, "I know what you plan to do."
 Vlashandra asks, "You don't know?"
 Vlashandra peers quizzically at Raelee.
 Vlashandra asks, "You can't figure it out Magister?"
 Vlashandra says, "I've your face, a shame you've not got my brain."
 Vlashandra smiles crookedly.
 Speaking to Vlashandra, Raelee asks, "To restore yourself?"
 Vlashandra says, "I guess you will never know Magister...and that is a sweet punishment indeed."
 Vlashandra pulls out a small vial of crackling cerulean fire from her robe.
 Vlashandra smiles crookedly.
 Vlashandra says, "Not yet...not yet."
 Vlashandra smiles.
 Vlashandra says, "I won't stop coming for the statue. But you hid it good enough for now."
 Vlashandra asks, "But you can't use it if it's hidden forever, can you?"
 Vlashandra asks, "Do me a favor?"
 Vlashandra says, "Tell Lylia we sure still do miss Aralyte."
 Vlashandra smiles crookedly.
 Gutstorm drunkenly slurs, "Tell her yeself."
 Raelee whispers something to Vlashandra.
 Gutstorm sticks his tongue out at Vlashandra, and lets out with a loud, "Thbtbtbtbt" from his lips!
 Vlashandra says, "I will. When I carve her body up next."
 Vlashandra smiles crookedly.
 Speaking to Vlashandra, Thrassus asks, "Would not any particular hunk of bleakstone work for you?"
 Vlashandra nods at Raelee.
 Faint golden lines trace across Raelee's skin as she appears to focus...
 Raelee gestures.
 Pale, swirling mist begins to billow out from nothingness before you, and quickly coalesces into a small orb of shifting essence.  Suddenly, the orb expands and forms an elliptical portal of swirling blues and blacks, its edges shrouded in dancing blue-white mist.
 Vlashandra looks over at Thrassus and shakes her head.
 Vlashandra says, "Thanks Magister."
 Vlashandra kisses Raelee on the forehead.
 Vlashandra steps into the shifting portal.
 Raelee flinches.

[Town Square Central]

This is the heart of the main square of Wehnimer's Landing.  The impromptu shops of the bazaar are clustered around this central gathering place, where townsfolk, travellers, and adventurers meet to talk, conspire or raise expeditions to the far-flung reaches of Elanith.  At the north end, an old well, with moss-covered stones and a craggy roof, is shaded from the moonlight by a strong, robust tree.  The oak is tall and straight, and it is apparent that the roots run deep. A swarm of chittering beady-eyed reapers rush in and quickly overwhelm Earthdiver!  Their tiny teeth and razor-sharp claws quickly flay chunks of flesh and skin away from his body!  The reapers soon leap off and scatter, carrying bits of skin with them.
