Rank 1 - Cleric general alchemy:

Takyant says, "You are here to learn Alchemy."
>
Takyant says, "Believe it or not, the art of mixing rare and exotic reagents to create bubbling potions and other curious crafts is as much magic as any chanting of incantations or gesturing you might do. Rare is the individual who can truly appreciate this."
>
Takyant says, "Rarer still is he who can understand the intricate interplay of reagents, the delicate power of that which comes of Alchemy."
>
"This," Takyant gestures toward the training cauldron, "is a cauldron. I gather you've seen one before. Though, not one such as this, I am sure."
>
You feel at full magical power again.
>
You release 1 mana into the surrounding area.
>
Takyant says, "Your first task as an alchemist is a fairly simple one." He indicates the training cauldron and says, "You will learn the ins and outs of these cauldrons. Light it, extinguish it, add some ingredients and seal the mixture within."

Takyant says, "First, we light the cauldron. Go ahead."
>light cauldron
You focus on the training cauldron and pulse a small amount of mana into it. A small flickering flame appears beneath it.
>
Takyant says, "Excellent, now try to extinguish it."
>extinguish cauldron
You focus on the training cauldron and interrupt the flow of mana within it. The flame beneath it goes out.
>
Takyant lights the training cauldron and gathers some ingredients from a nearby cupboard, placing them within the cauldron. "Now then," he says, "I've added some ingredients to the cauldron. You can take a look inside to see what is there."
>l in cauld
The training cauldron is currently lit. So far, you've added crystalline solution and powdered rock crystal.
>
Takyant says, "With all the ingredients in the cauldron, all that is left now is to seal the mixture and collect the results. Like so."

Takyant steps toward the training cauldron and, holding his hands over it, begins to murmur a quiet incantation. A coppery brown haze begins to seep out of the cauldron, dissipating as it reaches the ground.
>
Takyant lowers his arms, the flames beneath the cauldron flickering out, and gingerly reaches into the cauldron and removes a rock crystal. He holds the crystal up momentarily before stowing it in his robes.

Takyant says, "Simple, yes?"
>
Takyant once again lights the cauldron, gathers some ingredients from a nearby cupboard and places them within the training cauldron. "Now," he says, "it's your turn. Try the sealing procedure yourself."

[Use the ALCHEMY SEAL command to seal the solution inside the training cauldron.]

>ALCHEMY SEAL
You hold your hands over the training cauldron and murmur the incantation for sealing the solution. As you do so, an olive green haze begins to seep out of the cauldron, dissipating as it reaches the ground.

Gradually, you pulse mana into the cauldron, settling the turbulent essences contained within.

As you soothe the solution, you can see the liquid in the cauldron slowly starting to crystallize.
Roundtime: 3 sec.

You sense something amiss with the solution in the cauldron and quickly dismiss the flame and stop the sealing process.

The contents of the cauldron swirl suddenly, turning an unpleasant shade of brown and casting a foul odor into the air. The solution is clearly ruined.

With a sigh, you empty the cauldron of its failed concoction.

Takyant says, "Excellent. We may make an alchemist out of you yet, Erykk."
