Shield Thyself

[Shield Thyself - 8212654]
Built between two buildings, the narrow shop has a roof of overlapping canopies that are nailed into a series of boarded up windows on either side. Cobblestones gleam in the ambient light where the smooth stones lining the ground have been scrubbed to a near luminous quality. Despite the odd construction, the shop is tidy and utilizes old ale casks to create a sturdy table along the western wall. You also see a plain wooden sign.
Obvious exits: north, out
a plain wooden sign

In the Common language, it reads:

Each of the cloaks or capes on the table comes with a brooch or bangle.

For your convenience, here is a list of the pairings:

a sage-dyed velvet and yierka wool cape
~*~a claw-grasped glass mosaic fibula
~*~a petrified wooden bangle

a stygian bourde cape edged in stiff leather braiding
~*~an alum and glass pentacle brooch
~*~a smooth haon bangle

a pearlescent flyrsilk cape patterned in tonal cherry blossoms
~*~a gilded fairy wren brooch
~*~a tiled nacre bangle

a dark emerald wool cloak draped in thick animal pelts
~*~an onyx-petaled ivory rose pin
~*~a thorned dark mithril bangle

a jet-on-cobalt tartan cape reinforced by steel rivets
~*~a badger-shaped ironwood brooch
~*~a bone-inset vultite bangle

a heavy ashen buckskin cloak branded in overlapping leaves
~*~a lacquered kestrel brooch
~*~a stone-inset oak bangle

On the sturdy table you see: an dark emerald wool cloak draped in thick animal pelts, a heavy ashen buckskin cloak branded in overlapping leaves, a jet-on-cobalt tartan cape reinforced by steel rivets, a pearlescent flyrsilk cape patterned in cherry blossoms, a stygian bourde cape edged in stiff leather braiding, and a sage-dyed velvet and yierka wool cape.

An dark emerald wool cloak draped in thick animal pelts is part of the Shield Cape Collection, which was purchased at Duskruin in the shop "Shield Thyself". It is a passive defense item that has a chance to block an incoming blow. The chance increases with each tier that is unlocked. If the wearer has no weapons in her hands, no shield/runestaff, or is using a bow/crossbow, then she gets the full benefit of the cloak. Otherwise the chance is halved.
Its current status is OTS and that gives it access to the following verbs: pull (removes brooch), push (adds brooch), remove, turn (removes bangle), twist (adds bangle), wear

To upgrade its abilities, you will need to obtain an unlock certificate.

Brooch Data: (Brooch is Absent) An onyx-petaled ivory rose pin can be changed by using PULL to remove the brooch and PUSH to add a new one. Please note, only specialized brooches will work. Once your brooch is upgraded from the default piece, it unlocks a 50% chance to retain a charge within it for each successful block. When the brooch reaches 10 charges, it automatically flares and absorbs all of the charges.

Bangle Data: (Bangle is absent) A thorned dark mithril bangle can be changed by using TURN to remove the bangle and TWIST to add a new one. Please note, only specialized bangles will work. Once your bangle is upgraded from the default piece, it provides an additional 25% chance to absorb a charge. It will not provide this additional percentage chance if the brooch is not upgraded. Additionally, bangles can have special unlocks to change the flare type.

You may alter an dark emerald wool cloak draped in thick animal pelts freely providing it does not contradict the messaging. The cloak can never be a jacket, a longcoat, a coat, a robe, or any similar nouns based on its design. Nor will it ever have a hood. This garment will attach at the left wrist by a bangle, slide over the arm and across the left shoulder. It will then dip down the back (under wings for the Aelotoi), under the right arm, and can be pulled across the chest so that it is pinned at the left shoulder with a brooch.

Shield Thyself, Extension

[Shield Thyself, Extension - 8212655]
Polished cobblestones, lined with chipped curbs, stretch across the floor of the narrow shop, while high above colorful canvas squares are layered and stretched taut to form a protective canopy over the wares. Boarded up windows are fitted with hooks and pegs to display some of the wares for sale here, while a small woven basket on the ground holds other items. You also see a simple wooden sign.
Obvious exits: south
