One of the pets that hatch from the eggs, snapdragons are leafy beings that distribute a piece of parchment once every four days when PINCHed that can be used for writing.

LOOK

The snapdragon resembles nothing so much as an overly-arranged floral badge.  Its single blossom is easily three times the size of a normal snapdragon, and nestled at the center of the symmetrical wreath of curled and evenly-festooned stems it appears unnatural on several levels.   This is in no small part due to the paired fangs protruding from beneath the blossom's upper lip.
