A flail is consists of a spiked rod or ball suspended from a haft by a chain. The flail, however, is considerably more massive and requires both hands to wield. Flails are designed to crush an unarmored target or to puncture armored opponents.
Other Names
Acceptable nouns for a flail include a military flail.

Flails are on the high end of the damaging weapons in the Two-Handed Weapons skill.
